I was dreaming when I wrote this forgive me if it goes astray....

From the Koko gig to 4.30am last night 21st of sept it has been like an absolute dream come true! I’ve been transported to heaven and back again on a rollercoaster of emotions and loving every minute of it!!

I’ve been a fan of prince since I was 11 in 1982 and the past few months he has transported me through my formative years, every song played has had some meaning in my life, sad and happy times, whether it was one of his songs or cover versions of his inspirations who in turn have become my inspirations during the years, thanks to P I discovered P-funk, Aretha, Maceo, Chaka Khan, Sly and the family stone, Earth, wind and fire, and a myriad of others in a time when Bros and East 17 should have been my favourites! As a result I discovered ‘real music played by real musicians’ and I feel privileged to be part of the Prince scene through the decades.

I have been teased by family and friends no end for my attendance record this tour but I wouldn’t trade any of the gigs in for anything!! People have criticised and poured scorn, on Prince and his eccentricities to me this is just borne out of some kind of jealousy and ignorance of not realising the sublime talent in the heels!

This tour dancing in front of his stage and seeing those thrilled faces after the gigs I have discovered that I don’t care about who P hangs out with, what he eats, his inside leg measurement! All I care about is the music and when P plays and conducts his band I am lifted on what can only be described as a spiritual high! P doesn’t have to preach about God to make me believe, he just has to play a few notes on his guitar and I’m there!!

I just wanted to share this and say THANK YOU to P and the NPG and all the fans who made the last few months so enjoyable and emotional for me and countless others.
Thank you in particular to darlingomo for the sept 9th gig! Sorry you couldn’t be there last night.
I think we can shed a little tear that this tour has come to an end but I’m sure we all know deep inside he will be back at some point with something new and unpredicted to make us smile and dance as much as ever! You can’t keep such a good man down!!!!!

Peace and Be Wild!!
Love T

Very, very well said. You are absolutely right, what does it matter if people think that Prince is odd, or eccentric or whatever - at the end of the day he's a musician and as long as when he gets on stage he is good at that then what difference does all of the other stuff make?

I watched one of the vids on 3121.com earlier and there's a moment when he's playing his guitar solo where you see that he seems to get kind of lost, not in the sense of not knowing what he's doing, but getting lost in what he's doing - he totally loses himself and his face says it all. Well that's what I think anyway, I don't think my interest in listening to Prince will ever go away, there's something for every mood, and even when listening to songs I've heard a thousand times I still manage to find something new and interesting and all together compelling. prince
It feels so good it must be a crime...

i would think he gets totally absorbed in what he's playing to the point where he almost forgets who's around - and that's really where its at as an artist (in my humble opinion)
"C'mon y'all - let me hear you sing, c'mon y'all, shake, c'mon y'all, jump" - Yes Prince -
"London do you feel for me what I feel for you"- yes Prince -
"Can I play my guitar now?" - yes please
