I would have given my right arm to have been there tonight - unfortunately it was my daughter's 3rd birthday and I have an infection in my right lung and pleurisy to cap it off! sad

Oh well... sigh

...At least we have some fantastic people on the org who were willing to share the special night with us by keeping us updated - you guys are wonderful, it's so kind of you to take time out of your (frankly amazing) night to remember and help out those of us who are less fortunate and feed our Prince obsession. You guys are my heros worship
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

C'mon and dance while you, while you still have your cherry babe, cherry babe..

My ears are still ringing , ive barely slept and my jaw is pretty much still wide open in amazement how good last night was. From the second the curtain rose with Amy Winehouse standing there to the end 3 hours later with the sickest guitar work i've ever seen - anyone that was in that audience witnessd something truly spectacular.

Best aftershow for me in the 17+ years I've been going to them. Thank you Prince and the band.

Thanks for the set list!

I wonder about Amy though, how did Prince and her mix? Any eye contact, smiles, goosebumps? And, where did she go after her song?

She was totally in awe of Prince by the look of it. Well, not so much Prince himself, but that he was performing her song and that 2000 people were going absolutely mental for it.

At the end of the song he went and had a big hug with her and she was beaming.

He said later on that we should look after her. Heh.

I'm curious, was Prince surprised by Amy being there. Did she sing the complete song? Did Prince join her in the song? She sealed the final aftershow.

Nope - he didn't play 3121. Definitely definitely not. I was at the back with blacksweat torwards the end and he said that he always does it and was surprised that he didn't. He noted at the time that he didn't do it so he definitely didn't.

He DID do Partyman though.

As she started singing the first verse the curtains were closed. Before the 2nd and 3rd verses, Prince played a guitar solo, and pointed at her when it was time to sing. A short while after she left the stage, she came up and sat on the balcony towards the left side of the stage. She left the concert just a Shelby started singing "Misty blue".

OK, I guess my watch was wrong biggrin

But the set list is 100% correct. The only time we heard "3121" at the aftershow was when the studio version was played while we were waiting for the show to start.

OK, i'm officially going mad.. Still it was a long, long night...That's so weird though, as i distinctly remember my mate who was theer ealier saying how much he loved 3121, and then he had to leave early, and i remember him playing it and thinking it was a shame he'd left.. Wow, my brain is officially fried lol
