Prince what have you done to me?!?!

Ever since Tuesday the 28th of August i find myself constantly talking about Prince..
if people ask me what i did over the summer, the first thing i think of is WENT TO SEE PRINCE!!!
People ask me about my symbol chain and then i just babble on and on and on about the concert and i can see people thinking shut the f*ck upppp lol
I try and convert people and make them listen to his music cause i want someone to adore him as much as i do...

i have to say the concert was the most amazing thing ive ever experienced to this day.

anyone else find them selves doing the things listed above?

lol

To be honest , I've been literally depressed since Sept 6th. That was my second show+aftershow. I could best describe it as "falling in love" again with Prince eventhough he's been an integral part of my life since the age of 12. Seeing him live for the first time at this aftershow was emotionally unsettling. It was just TOO intense to emotionally absorb, if that makes any sense to you..I'm even refraining from playing any of his music as it saddens me . I need to accept the fact that I won't be able to be at the last 2 shows since each trip has cost me about 1000 pounds and my husband is seriously losing patience with me sad
I'll be eternally grateful for those precious shows but I can't get out of this blues. I REALLY need another Prince fix quick! How do I snap out of it??? cry

I've done it a few times in the last week. Met up with some old friends and the first response to "How are you doing?/What are you up to these days?" is "I've been to see Prince X amount of times, that's how I'm doing". There's simply nothing else worth telling compared to that neutral

eek I know jus what u mean...it is like some kind of sickness...should b discussed in the 'Lancet' What would they call it...maybe "Prince-itus" is 2 obvious, but imo it's easier 2 recover when ur disease has got a name!!?
Have found it 2 painful 2 listen 2 Princes music, aswell, so no solace there!!
Wtf is that about????
Time is the only healer here...and, as u say, a healthy dose of perspective.
Our man is truely addictive.....OH, S*@T!!! confused

Is there really no way u can go again..."Those kind of cars don't pass u every day"!!! lol

i can relate to every word you said - actually i'm lying cos i don't have a symbol chain - but other then that i'm totally with you.

the worst part is that despite me being able to see people thinking "shut the fuck up" i'm not the slightest bit deterred and babble on regardless - my social skills are absolutely destroyed!

i just want to somehow get the message "thank u so much 4 coming 2 London - we wish u heaven" to him
i ain't looking for a 1 night stand...
i don't really wanna be your man...

I could go again (although it's impossible to get concert tixs) but as my husband bluntly said I would find our apartment empty when I come back boxed
He keeps saying that I act like a crazed teenager and that I'm being ungrateful for the time I DID go see Prince.I can't think rationally.

hug 4 sure, it ain't rational!!! Once i accepted that, I felt vaguely better(4 2 secs!!) Perhaps if u told ur ole' man that Prince is jus 4 summer'07, n' husbands r 4 life, he might feel more chilled...???!!
Since I don't have a husband, it's 2 easy 4 me 2 say...But my daughters have asked why Prince is always on the P.C!!! and "r u going 2 c Prince again this wkend, mummy??" Whoops (wish!!) rainbow

DigMeNow

I was wearing the prince necklace about a month ago and a woman stopped me and asked what does it mean. I thought quietly for a moment, should I give her a quick comment or tell her all about it. At that point I went all in and took her to school since she stopped to ask me in the first place. lol Afterwards she said thank you for trying to explain it to me. neutral lol

Hi i know how you feel i saw him on the 28th with boyf then on 6th with mate we were in d1 floor so close it was amazing only my second time ever and i am so pleased to hear someone feels the same as me i was so overwhelmed by it all. On the 28th i was just standing there when he came out and my jaw hit the floor and i had tears in my eyes i had waited so long, on the 6 th it was amazing so close we could see his face. me and my mate were going crazy and then when he did the 3rd encour i couldnt hold it in any longer and i cried it was so emotional. Now i feel so awfull would really like to go to aftershow and possibly last night but have two kids and mortgage and paid e bay prices for both nights already. We can feel this way together.

My husband is losing patience with me too, and thinks I've turned into a teenager - he's right! I can totally relate to everything on this post - some people just don't get Prince!

Even had a row with my brother on the phone when he said he would prefer to see Sophie Ellis-Bextor in concert!! (I think that makes him a teenager!!) I have now forgiven him as he drove me to the airport, going through all the Prince hits we both like, and singing some of them - it seems he is very familiar with all the SOTT songs, so he must be alright after all!
....Have had my + today!

Artefact

More of a voyeur than a poster, but I have to agree.... Have worringly rediscovered my obsession that I had as a 12 year old (over 20 yrs ago..!). Bizarre since I'd really not been into Prince for a long long time since then, the last album I bought was D&P, before getting 3121 last year. Wasn't even going to go see him this tour, but my girlfriend suggested it, and now we've been twice, going on Sunday, and have aftershows for the 20th...! And it's all I can think about, like being in love. Knarls Berkley was right...Crazy. eek

I know exactly how you feel. Had tix booked for 18th and 28th but as soon as those gigs had gone,I was so down and couldnt bring myself to play any of his stuff for a good couple of weeks after.Fortunately my hubby is also a big fan so he understands and we can chat about P.I'm so lucky to have him but I do feel really guily. I have(thanks to a very kind orger, been given a spare ticket for the final night). He kept saying "go for it,you'll regret it if you dont go",so I am.What a man 'eh?Everyone else seems to glaze over when I tell them about the gigs. They'll ask how it went but I think its just them being polite LOL wink

Oh yeah! After I go to a Prince concert, I'm on a purple high for many days after the concert has ended. I'm also sad that it has ended, and am ready to go back the very next night and do it all over again. lol

Having only just found this site am so pleased to 'meet' others who are experiencing the same probs as me!! Since going to the 3rd Aug concert and the aftershow on 25th have not stopped going on and on about it!! No-one else understands and can't see why I'm going again (tonight). Might be in line for divorce at this rate with the cost etc, but am addicted. Have got my final 'fix' arranged for the a/show on the 20th too. Everyone thinks I've lost my mind. Probably have!

I'm a massive Bowie fan and I get that all the time, 'isn't he gay?' even now and he's married to a supermodel and has been for the last 15 years! And he's got 2 kids. The answer to give is 'no but I wouldn't give a shit if he was' razz

And btw, you are not alone. Ever since these 21 shows were announced I've been able to think of nothing else than getting as many tix as possible. I actually got one and thought ok that's it, I won't get more. Then after the show the first thing I did was book another. Then after that show i immediately booked another. Tonight is my 5th gig and tomorrow morning I expect I'll need the buzz from booking yet another one! I have tix for the 20th but want to go Sunday and the 21st too, if I can.

In short, like many here, I've lost my marbles to Prince! The man owns me! It's going to be devastating when these gigs are over.
