Thanks so much 4 all of ur advice on here. It looks like I'll have 2 bring my black coat.

I will b in block 111 row 4 and I have heard I can capture most of the stage from there.

Block 111, row 4?! You'll be able to tell him to smile for you! He's practically at eye level when he walks to your side of the stage! Ask him to strike a pose...and make sure you get some good close ups of Marva and the twinz...

eek Oh my! this must be the funniest thread I have seen. Ya'll are hilarious (!) having me rollin' on DA FLOOR with laughter here!
I couldn't pase myself when I saw that title. lol lol lol

If you try to look surreptitious you will just draw attention to yourself. To get away with this you really need to act cool. It's no good trying to hide your equipment either. I suggest you go with something like this:

Maybe also set up a crane and a dolly. You'll look so pro no-one would mistake you for a bootlegger.

If Prince isn't planning on releasing this show on DVD then I certainly hope you would get away with it!

Some nights they have emptied my bags and metal detected me, other nights they have just ASKED me if I have a camera & let me walk through.

Is it possible 2 bring my HD camcorder 2 the show on the 21st Sept. I have heard that no flash photos r allowed, but I just want 2 film the entire show and not interrupt the performance.

If it may cause a problem, I may have to result to bringing my black coat 2 put over my shoulders and on top of the camcorder.

Somebody has already,

No, I was in row d and it was awesome. I remember thinking "I wish I had my camcorder" especially when Maya or Nandy slipped over. I could have been £250 better off. Unfortunately my audio digital recording device was not able to pick up this hilarious occurence.
Just somewhere in the middle,

They did that with me. "Do you have a camera?". "Er, no?" "Okay, off you go. Oh and here's your free CD".

Let's be pragmatic here... There's enough clips floating around to show that filming is possible.

If this guy wants to try and film the whole thing in HD from one of the better seats available, then who are we to tell him not to.

I'd certainly have a selfish interest in viewing the resulting footage should he be successful!

That said, I think this has to be a joke!

To ensure maximum success for this cinematic tour de force I would suggest a better way. My friend's mother's aunt's best mate is one of the lighting crew. I can personally arrange (for a small charge including booking fee) for you to take their slot on the night in question. All you need to do is be able to climb a very thin rope ladder and swing a light around whilst you're filming. the vantage point has the advantage of both excellent viewing and 100% guarantee that security will not disturb you.

Yeah, and then there's other nights they blank you completely: On the 18th, I helped myself to 2 CD's from one of the boxes, held them up and said " I've got not bags & I'm taking these" and still got ignored (wish I'd taken the lot, now!)

After receiving orgnotes from a couple of people I have to say that I was only joking about the audio digital recording device and I do not have any bootleg recording of the concert to share. I thought planetearth was also joking about the camcorder thing and was just messing about playing the fool. Seems he is serious after all. neutral
