Aftershow Guest Performance list

Ok Guessing game time. Based on known facts, strong rumours and hearsay list here or on Housequake, we've still got some gaps to fill in!

Seems likely we've got Killa Kela, Nikka Costa, Mya and Beverley Knight to fit in at some point. Could Prince play the ones in between, or is it all Disco!?

1/8 = Prince & The Band
3/8 = Dr John
4/8 = Nikka Costa
7/8 = Grupo Fantasma
10/8= Beverley Knight Confirmed Prince NOT scheduled to perform. And then he performed! Work that out!
11/8= No show. 3121 report Prince is due to perform, then he never shows. No live music.
14/8= Beverley Knight Prince also puts in blinding performance.
17/8= Mya and the NPG house band.
18/8= Prince & The band.
24/8= Common and Prince & The Band.
25/8= NPG House band
28/8= Prince and the band (sounds like the best show yet!)
31/8= NPG House Band.
1/9 = Prince and the band.
6/9 = Beverley Knight?
9/9 = Beverley Knight?
12/9= Q Awards party- Aftershow expected according to Q. Beverley not booked.
13/9= Beverley Knight?
16/9= Beverley Knight?
20/9= Unknown. 3121 suggest Prince will not perform.
21/9= End of tour. Prince and the Band??

True - she needs a big stage - more room to stagger without falling off. Love her.

Actually given how alcohol has possibly soured things so far - he may not want Wino to perform

If Prince was to simply publish the list, we could avoid all this crap over what the aftershows will contain.

Does that seem to sensible???

Thats true.

Where would we be if we didn't have a bunch of fans complaining about the stitch up, and a bunch of sheep claiming we should all be grateful our lord Prince even shows up!

That fact is, Prince is creating the problem in the first place!

lol

There was a big sign up outside the Indigo which listed a whole host of people playing over several months.

Jools Holland played there some time ago, Joss Stone was also on the bill for sometime in July I think, and Dr John were listed for 3rd August. There are also a few more for coming dates that have now been sold as "Prince - the official aftershow" so we can expect a non-exclusive performance for at least some of these nights.

And just to point out that this makes it clear Dr John was not a replacement that was wheeled out to replace Prince, this band was planned to play a long time before according to the posters which listed upcoming events back as far as June.

You're mixing up the scheduled early evening performance with the 11.30pm Prince booking.

Dr John was booked to play Indigo2 months ago, at 8pm. Prince obviously hired him for a second show to fill a gap.

A couple of people who say they saw the list said she was down for those days.

P will join her for sure I bet.

Chakha is amazing. I'd love to see her.

Also The Time would make a bloody GREAT Aftershow.

I know this is not going to be popular but Larry Graham would make a brilliant, funked-up Aftershow. Nobody plays bass as mean as that dude!

Plus with Larry on, you can more or less guarantee a Prince appearance. He simply won't be able to resist it.

Yes - that's why we don't like him.

His religion doesn't discredit his bass playing which he is a legend for.

I've had personal experience with JW's, some of which was very painful, but that does not mean I decide 'not to like' a man because of his religion.

Also it is speculation that Larry got Prince 'into' Jehovah's Witnesses. He studied with him, yes, but I am sure Prince has a mind of his own and is an adult capable of making decisions about his future.

Arely do I read a Bass player magazine without some mention of Larry. He is a bass legend and innovator and breaks out the Funk. That's why I'd like to see him at an aftershow.

His religion is irrelevant, as is Prince's. I'm there for the music.

I didn't mention anything about not liking him because of his religion - 1 of my best friends is a JW (I totally disagree with their religion and the restrictions on it's followers) but she's STILL my friend and I love her. I was merely asking if my facts were straight...

I know. It was another poster who mentioned that. I was referencing two subjects in one post.

Sorry for any confusion.

I was an Unbaptized Publisher and studied/associated with JW's for the best part of 6 years. Went on the doors, gave Bible readings and went to meetings. An experience best forgotten, so I totally relate to what you have written.

I had a good friend in school who had a brain heamorrage (sp?) the doctors needed to use blood (I think it was for an operation to remove the clot) but her parents refused to allow it and so she died. As a mother myself I cannot believe that any parent will take the 'word of God' over their child's life. I DO NOT agree with any religion that thinks itself more important than a child's life.

OK - I'll get off my soapbox now - let the flaming of me and my views commence...

Just been on to the o2 website and have noticed that Bill Clinton is playing at the Indigo2 on the 14th August (same night as our man), I would say that either he's gonna let Bill play it alone or there's gonna be one hell of a funk-fest kicking off that night!
