The thing is Anx, we've had shows sell out, only to have new batches of tickets appearing that are better seats than were available before. Apparently a lot of the euro folk had been buying tickets thinking a speedy purchase was a good thing. Many have already bought a second set of tickets for the same show, just to upgrade the seat. So now we got a new former-npgmc package that has again better seats than were available before, while we all already have our tickets. But, if you call ticketmaster you can swap your tickets if you give them the code. Still it's a hassle. [Edited 7/20/07 10:09am] "this especially prepared potato is called pomme de terre"

I doubt they designed their business in such a way as to maximize the amount of angry fans calling in, and i doubt Prince is the only artist that has a following that assumes an early purchase is a good purchase. Also yes you can switch, but at least at the time of my new transaction today, that was not obvious from the sites or emails. Phonecalls had to be made to find out.

What I personally think that caused all this is that they over estimated how many people would be paying silly amounts for dubious VIP packages (a boat ride?!). That gave them the problem of the best seats being empty.

It is Ticketmaster that does this. I've been posting this since tix first went on sale. They do this with all their concerts in the US. The seats always get better and better closer to the event date. However, auctioning FLOOR tickets at high amounts THEN selling comparable seats to club members for 31 pounds doesn't seem right to me. If I swap the tix out, are they going to refund me back the difference I paid for essentially the same seat at auction. Somehow, I doubt it. Plus I STILL haven't received the passcode for the cheaper, better seats. [Edited 7/20/07 12:49pm] You don't need directions and you don't need cash. Am I reading this right? You can phone in to exchange your shitty, up near the top of the London Eye tickets but they'll only let you do it if you're an ex-member of the NPGMC? Or will they let anyone who bothers to phone exchange?

My point is if I had known that there would be an opportunity to get floor seats thru NPGMC I woulda saved my money. So now I feel kinda screwed with no vaseline, kiss, or nuthin. . . I bought tickets to one of the Musicology concerts days before the show and was able to snag floor seats...and the concert was supposedly sold out.
