Roosevelt Pricing: Requested 2 be $77.07

I have been informed it is the ROOSEVELT HOTEL that is selling the tickets at the current OVERPRICED rate since they have to Pay Prince his fee.

Prince actually requested tix 2 b $77.07

There is only 1 sponsor 4 not that much and only 200 ppl versus the 1000 at the Rio.

Surely P can do math and should have known what the Roosevelt would have to charge to make any money. Or is the Roosevelt trying to make a killing on this?

Ticket revenue comes out to a little more than $1.5 million, assuming all tickets are sold.

I'm sure Verizon is kicking into the fee for the sponsorship to make up for the other 1.5 mil.

Yeah, allegedly Verizon is kicking in $750K. There was rumored to be a clothing company that was going to pay $1.5 mil, but that hasn't happened yet.

I'm trying to figure out how Prince can get paid $3 million and the Roosevelt not go into bankruptcy.

he asked for x number of dollars for 7 shows so he new they would have to charge this much if not more to get there money back.if he wanted them to only charge 77 dollars a ticket he should been payed alot less but i bet he aint having none of that.

Hmm...well I guess it's cool that Prince only wanted to charge $77.07. It would be a lot cooler if he actually tried to do something about it and get the Roosevelt to go along, but I guess a contract's a contract and he's getting paid regardless. Hopefully all this cash will equal affordable tix when he finally makes it to New York. pray

Next time he sings Cream, he needs to add the dolla dolla bill y'all at the end. wink

He requested tix be only $77.07, eh?

Question...did he consider adjusting his fee to meet this honorable request of his? lol The guy has flipped.

Yeah - It'd be funny if the band's bar tab was more than the revenue, just like the Blues Brothers biggrin

Someone's feeding you this info and not being quite genuine in the process jseven. Are your sources telling you that Prince considered lowering his own fee to meet this "requested" ticket price? I thought not. Do the math and don't be turned into some vehicle to make nice with disgruntled fans.
This is simply mis-information.

Even the hotel yesterday was telling people who called in that he wanted the $312 tix 2 be $77.

I reported something that is now being told by the hotel . Don't shoot the messenger.

I'm not; I always appreciate your information.

I'm just curious as how a room with a capacity of 200 could support a $3 million artist fee spread out over 7 shows. Maybe Prince never was going to get $3 million. That's a possibility.

Maybe a sponsor dropped out. That's possible, too.

Curious, though - why did the hotel pick the "3121" themed prices? Whem most people think of Prince and numbers, I think "1999" comes to mind first.

It is weird to think that the TOTAL number of people able to see these shows (200 x 7 = 1400) is equal to one sold out show at First Ave. or about the amount of people who will see him at the Macy's Performance.

Hey, please don't drag me into this convo. biggrin

I got no beef with J7, he has no reason to lie. Whether someone else is (about the $77.07 price), who knows.

No problem u all.

Remember, they would charge 4 alcohol and most likely want the tables 2 have bottle service, which would be about $400-$600 per bottle and most likely would want each table 2 get about 2 bottles a night. They sure ain't gonna be satisfied if u r orderign Diet Cokes all night u know? So they would make more money with other things that are not included.

I understand that, I'm just trying to figure out how a $3 million fee could be covered.

This seems to be more and more an opportunity for Prince to showcase to industry heavies - both music and movie, I'm guessing. This really doesn't look like something he's doing for performance reasons.

I could be wrong, though. I often am.
