I did the 3121 VIP experience on Friday, November 17th. And LOVED it!!

My friend and I had 7:30 reservations at the 3121 Jazz Cuisine Restaurant. After seeing previous posts on the 3121 show, we went to collect our show tickets before dinner, but the Rio/3121 staff said that they had changed procedures a bit and said to just check in with them after dinner.

We went in for dinner and were greeted by the host "Big John". After checking what seemed like a very long list, he found my name and we were seated in a lovely booth in the room where the band plays.

There are 3 public rooms that I saw, plus a private room behind etched glass doors. There is the large main room where the kitchen is located, a smaller room where the band is set up, and a third room that looks like it is a sun room.

The table setting was lovely, and our 3 servers where very friendly and attentive.

Dinner is a 6 course tasting menu - the first 2 courses are set, and you get to choose the next 4 courses which are salad, fish, meat, and desert. Let me tell you IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST DINNERS THAT I HAVE EVER HAD. Super yummy! I am a fairly picky eater - I ate many things new to me and enjoyed them all.

While we were on course two, Prince popped into the room. He did not stay very long at all, but it was a thrill none the less!!!

Not long after, the jazz band began to play. They were very groovy! There was a drummer, keyboards, sax, and bass.

I admit that the only band member that I recognized was Mike Phillips. My friend and I (another female) were definitely grooving to the jazz and appreciating the vibe.

It was awesome when the band was finished and they all came over to our booth to introduce themselves. What a thrill!

We were finished with dinner about 9:30pm and we headed over to the showroom. The doors were open and we went in. We were the first to arrive at our group table. We weren't there long before DJ Rashida started spinning and the vast array of flat screens lit up with some great visuals.

It started with the amazing Josephine Baker dancing several dances then progressed to some 30's - 40's fabulous tap dancers and progressed to 60's dancing, etc. It was really great footage! The last of the dancing footage was Soul Train - what a kick to see people doing the bump with their tight polyester! We had our bottle delivered - the waitress was super friendly.

I think that my one piece of advice would be to arrive before 11pm. There were two couples sitting in our vicinity that were having a very difficult time getting their bottle service sometime between 11 and 12.

All of the people that we met that night were so fun! We especially enjoyed a couple shared our table - they had traveled from Texas to see the show.

After the dancing pieces, they showed scenes from Graffiti Bridge and Under the Cherry Moon on alternating screens. DJ Rashida was playing some great tunes, so my friend I would rush down to the dance floor to dance. This seemed to get a few others in the dancing mood as well.

Before the movies ended, the screens showed the Prince symbol and Rashida played a great version of Adore.

Next up was the show - which as you all know - rocked! Prince came on at about 12:10 or so and played to about 2:15. We got 2 encores!!

I have never seen the Twinz live, and I thought they were awesome! Amazing dancers!

Anyway, the whole experience was flawless and we truly felt like VIPs!
