What the hell is wrong with people's memories?!?

People having hours-long discussions with Prince, Q & A, and all you give us is the same ol' report of the set-list??? C'mon yall go eat some peanuts, drink some Ginkoba, do whatever to jog your memories and tell us what he SAID! It ain't ALL about the music ya know wink

Seriously, thanks to all the Vancouver folk for your reports... they were great. Now tell us what he said biggrin

What a damn good point. So far i've got three of the sound checks on boot[NYC, Houston ans Kansass] and they simply blow away anything else i've heard on boot in terms of his little chats with the fans and in terms of the music. Also why is there no decent description of the xenaphobia cd that has been played before some shows - give us hope and tell us its better than ONA!!.

Still nuthin' eh? The funny thing is if he'd done sumthin' even re-considered as foul, there'd be about 10 threads in each forum about the incident. This is a chance 2 discuss the positive & U can hear the crickets serenading in the background ... (sigh) ... Oh well ... Maybe it's better that way. Don't want people pickin' apart what he said. wink
PEACE

You know, the thing is. . .well, the conversations were sort of. . .intimate seems too strong a word, but it just seems WEIRD to have a conversation with a small group of people, and then try to repeat it word for word on the freakin' internet. It's like posting an email that was sent privately for everyone to see. . .maybe Prince and the other people involved wouldn't care. Probably not, since it's not like we knew each other; if he was willing to say stuff to a small group of strangers he's probably willing to say them to a large group. But I can't ASK him. Plus, I don't want to get him wrong, because it was kind of in-depth stuff about religious beliefs, which is complicated, and I don't want to mis-quote him on the org and have it go down in history as what Prince thinks about this or that.

If it helps, he wasn't talking much about himself, or his music, or anything like that which your average fan would be especially interested in. The things he said weren't Prince-specific. His main jist was that you should read the Bible (new world translation) before you diss it. Which I think is very reasonable.

Thanks Tackam... I respect that. I thought he talked more about the music during the Q & A (someone reported that he talked about the creative process).

Other than that, it is good to know that he doesn't sound to be as dogmatic as has been thought... in the conversations if he respected different view points that's pretty cool.

He did talk about the creative process a little bit. . .everything I remember is posted in my review, in the concerts section.

I wouldn't say he's NOT dogmatic, but he was trying pretty hard to be respectful of everyone. The thing is, most of the people weren't really going to try to disagree with him about much. They sorta left that up to me. smile

=== NPS, i'm wondering if maybe prince tells them he'd like what he talks about kept off the internet??? but yeah, it would be nice to hear about the content of the discussions. however, people wouldnt get it all the actual way it went down anyway... i also liked these canadian reviews. different.

I'm enjoying the reviews also, wish there were more. I just posted a couple more stories I found on the Edmonton Sun website.

I haven't heard of Prince telling anyone that what is spoken about can't be repeated. Look back at all the great reviews of the shows so far and see all the great comments that were made, and the recollections of the soundcheck banter with Prince.

Keep those reviews coming people !!!

--- I think i heard a few innuendos made from prince (according to a few fans) about "youll only post it on the internet anyway etc." but never really a request not to i guess. he may just give out a vibe of sorts...? but there WERE lots of U.S.A. discussions posted from the soundchecks etc. the canadian fans seem rather close mouthed with that, as well as with a legit setlist. i guess they may feel they have a part of prince that they want to keep to themselves as a gift, so to speak, from prince. a personal gift. plus, they probobly really dont want to misquote him in an open forum, and it's hard enough to sometimes grasp what prince says and means as it is. hard to quote him verbatim. i liked the one who asked what he did in his spare time, and answered sports, writing music, and the bible. that was a good question.
