I'm a left winger and the Democrats despise left wingers. They make that perfectly clear.

You sure seem to be an expert on American television. Apparently you watch more than I do, as you seem to know every joke told (or not told)....

Michelle Wolf seems to be giving her views of Hillary Clinton pretty freely here :

http://www.cc.com/video-c...ry-clinton

[Edited 5/12/18 10:26am]

I can't watch that video in my region, but I don't need to. Michelle Wolff has already stated that she was not allowed to tell these Hillary jokes before (you can watch her Seth Myers interview to see her repeat that), so whatever jokes she's telling in that clip must've been tame, unlike the ones she was telling in Britain.

Too bad you can't see a video that contradicts your thesis ...additional information is always useful in drrawing final conclusions.

(BTW- She's pro-Hillary in this sketch, stating that the objections people make about her, such as the e-mail server, are way overblown, and that voting for her is essential to keep out Trump -who she referred to as a "monster" at the WHCD. Unless you want to believe that she was "forced" to write and perform this skit...)

falloff LOL! You just proved me right and yet you actually think you contradicted my thesis. According to your own words she is DEFENDING Hillary Clinton in that clip. It's a "pro-Hillary" sketch. But we now know that she was wanting to say much harsher things about Hillary on those shows but she was not allowed to. She herself has told us this. That's the point you seem to be missing. Read that last sentence again. Let it sink in. SHE HERSELF has said this.

I realize you want to believe that these media corporations just give the comedians free rein to let it all hang out, but I'm afraid that is not how the world works. These late night shows in particular are crucial in spreading establishment messages (like the anti-Russian conspiracy theories for instance).

This is why you see them all reading from the same hymn sheet all the time. Did you even notice that they do that? Did you ever ask yourself why it is? Of course not. You were too busy swallowing their corporate-sponsored worldview.

I saw the appearance on Seth Meyer the other night, and watched it again, just to make sure I didn't miss anything. You have really misrepresented the jokes Michelle Wolf is saying she "wasn't allowed to tell "...the examples were a joke bashing sexism, not Hillary Clinton. And the other one was about Bill Clinton's sex escapades,..something late night comedians (and others) such as Letterman, Leno, O'Brian, Kimmel, Colbert, SNL, and Chris Rock have been joking about consistently for over 20 years!!! But I guess you know more about American comedy than any actual American....

You have really misrepresented the joke that you say "bashed sexism". It did no such thing. What it bashed was the DNC talking point that was used throughout 2016 that Hillary was a beacon of feminism and that her success was a success for women in general. That whole "smashing the glass ceiling" motif was one they used again and again (it was one reason why they tried to smear Bernie Sanders as sexist).

Michelle Wolf exposed the silliness of that with this joke which I am quoting word for word...

"It would be great to have Hillary be the first female President coz then it would prove that women can do anything..... as long as their husband did it first".

That is a joke she wanted to tell on Seth Myers in 2016 but was not allowed to. Seth Myers does not deny this. It clearly is a dig at the brand of McFeminism that the DNC were peddling.

As for the jokes about Bill Clinton's infidelities you are once again mixing up the timelines in order to confuse the issue. It was during the 2016 election campaign that she wanted to tell all these jokes (and did tell them in Britain) but wasn't allowed to in America. None of the late night comedians you mentioned told those jokes in 2016. They were too busy trying to get Hillary elected.

You are totally wrong. Late night comedy did not suddenly stop making Bill Clinton sex jokes in 2015. Those jokes have been comedy bread and butter for decades. Am I to assume that you, a foreigner, watch every American late night comedy show each and every evening and episode?

And I will post Michelle Wolf's Seth Meyer appearance later, so people can judge her comments for themselves.

Please show me a clip of an American late night comedian telling Bill Clinton sex jokes in 2016. If they did then you should be able to post a clip of it. If you can't do that then I'm calling you a liar.

And I am still waiting for you to explain how the other joke she told - which I quoted word for word - was "bashing sexism". As I explained, what it was actually doing was bashing the DNC's fake feminism. People had to vote Hillary because her Presidency would be a feminist triumph, yet she only became a Presidential candidate because of the man she married. This was always the elephant in the room. It was an elephant Michelle Wolf was keen to point out, but - as she made clear in the clip you posted - she was not allowed to.

You guys are not even honest with yourselves. Michelle Wolf and the host are saying in plain English that she was not allowed to tell those jokes when she worked on the show in 2016. She told the jokes in the UK. The jokes are against Hillary. That show (and all the other late night shows) were supporting Hillary at the time. That's a fact, not an opinion.

I simply can't relate to or understand your brazen dishonesty. My conscience wouldn't let me play the tricks that you guys play. But like I said, it's yourselves you're not being honest with.

BTW, do you have anything to say about the DNC supporting Don Blakenship - the right wing murderer - in West Virginia? You live there. You should care about that. Also, who did you support in the Democratic Primary? The left wing Paula Jean Swearengin or the right wing Joe Manchin?

rolleyes Evasion, evasion, evasion. The pattern is always the same. Detect that your unconscious support for right wingers is being exposed and then quickly evade, dodge and run while simultaneously hurling insults.

I take it from this non-answer that you supported the right wing Joe Manchin and that you don't care about the DNC's support for the blood-stained monster Don Blakenship in your home state. Even though this tactic of promoting Republican extremists - known as the Pied Piper Stategy - was the same one they used to promote Donald Trump in 2015 (as revealed by WikiLeaks who published the emails to prove it).

Also funny how you call the application of basic logic "overthinking".

Blankenship? I live in New Orleans. I was born in Ohio, not West Virginia, so that's a lose/lose. Pied Piper Strategy? I know, it still hurts Bernie lost.

Once again you're showing your dishonesty. It would only take a few seconds' research for you to find out that the Pied Piper Strategy is real. It's written right there in John Podesta's emails which were published by WikiLeaks.

Rather than address that, you just simply lie and pretend that this is not a fact. It's the online equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ear and going "Nur, nur, nu-nur nur. I can't hear you!"

And please don't feign ignorance about Blakenship. You know full well that he's a profit-mad psycho with blood on his hands. The DNC's support for him was confirmed by the Washington Examiner recently. But I don't expect you to ever address that either.

Did not feign ignorance re Blankenship. I posted about him in Rodeo's thread, look it up and read it. You said he was in my home state, wrong. Don't conflate.

I know what the pied piper thing WAS https://www.salon.com/201...-strategy/ - it's over with Bernie here, and Hillary for that matter. Again putting words in my mouth that are wrong. Your tunnel vision re the US is just silly sometimes, but you don't see it. That's why you need to get out of yourself. Experience real life and people, not just the echo chamber in your head.

This thread is about the correspondents dinner, you are the one off-topic here. I'm going back to not replying to you in any intelligent way. Ta

Yet another post that consists of nothing but evasion.

I already know that you're aware of Blakenship. I said that in the very post you're responding to, lol. But you are noticeably silent about the revelation - reported in the Washington Examiner - that the DNC supported that murderer through a SuperPac.

Your statement about the "pied piper thing" is utterly incoherent. What the hell's it got to do with Bernie? Are you drunk? The Pied Piper Strategy is the DNC's strategy to promote Republican extremists. It's the strategy they are clearly still using as their support for Blakenship shows. It has nothing to with Bernie.

BTW, that last sentence of yours is hilarious. You're already not replying to me in any intelligent way. That's the problem.

Thanks for your enlightening post about the White House Correspondence dinner. biggrin But there is nothing to see here, it's an American thing. Move along and post about shit in your own country.

That's not how this thing called the world wide web actually works. We're free to post about events in any country.

But it's entirely in keeping with the xenophobic bent of you faux lefties that you would use my nationality to try and silence me. Rest assured I will not be using the same tactics myself should you choose to post about British events.

It appears to most of us that you don't know or understand as much about American politics and culture as you THINK you do.

I could offer my opinion on English issues, but I'd never pretend to be an authority on them.

Once again you're proving your inability to digest inconvenient information. I have repeatedly explained (and you have repeatedly ignored) that these issues are the same everywhere. I don't need to be American to understand them because they are not unique to America. The exact same things happen here too. Do I need to explain this point again or will it sink in one day?

And in the case of Michelle Wolf all I need to do is listen to her and Seth Myers' own words to know that she was not allowed to tell those jokes when she worked on the show. That's a fact. It's also a fact that those jokes were all at the expense of Hillary who that show supported. One doesn't need to be American to know that.

And I'm still waiting for you to post the clip of late night comedians making Bill Clinton sex jokes in 2016. According to you it's a regular occurrence, but you can't post any clips of it. If you want to make me look like an ignorant Brit who doesn't know about America then here's your chance. Go ahead, post a clip. You can't do it because there are no such clips. You only said there were because you were trying to con yourself into ignoring the point Michelle Wolf was making.

Underage, incarcerated, institutionalized, other - there's a reason why you only post on weekends. If you had even minimal manners some of us would probably engage. We are the same people coming here to talk week after week as well.

However, the superior berating behavior is pure troll Waste of time.

LOL, every week you get my hopes up by saying that you will be ignoring me and every week you break your word. Just like your leaders secretly love and support Trump, I think you secretly have an internet crush on me. How else to explain your inability to stay away from me.

Do you WANT to perpetuate the stereotype of the supercilious Brit twit ? Because you're doing a good job...

I posted the clip of Michelle Wolf on Seth Meyer's show. Not one person agreed with your interpretation of her joke. And where is your proof that every American late night producer, writer, and performer met in some secret cabal and decided as of a certain date to stop telling Bill Clinton sex jokes (a staple of American comedy for over 20 years)?

Still dodging the challenge. If you want to prove that you are intellectually honest and that I am a clueless Brit then you could do it very easily by showing a clip of one of these late night comedians telling Clinton sex jokes in 2016. Why is this so hard? The reason is because none of them were telling those jokes at the time.

My assertion is that you are not honest enough to admit this even to yourself. So prove me wrong. Let's see these clips. Enough of the talk, my friend. Quit the ad hominem attacks and "Show me the money"!

So, which one is it?

And why do you find Michelle Wolf quite sexy?
