Left-Wing Host Calls Out Rachel Maddow For Xenophobia

Bigotry used to be mostly a right wing pastime. Now the left are discovering the joys of it too.

Hilarious, if it wasn't so fucking nonsensical and ridiculous.

Totally agree. Maddow's xenophobia and Glenn Beck-style reporting are completely nonsensical and ridiculous.

The war mongering is not cool either.

We all marvel at how Alex Jones fans can be so stupid as to swallow his bullshit, but now Rachel Maddow is showing just how stupid millions of liberals are too. They watch this evil conspiracy mongering and actually think it's serious journalism.

i think your are going deep into the cherry picking and confirmation bias. Xenophobia is mostly about race and religion, not investigations into possible criminal or treasonous activity.

Alex Jones is seriously mentally ill, and dangerous. Hardly a comparison, considering she is dealing in facts.

[Snip - luv4u] . Xenophobia is a word that specifically defines fear or hatred of people from other countries. It's about nationality, not religion or race (though it can often overlap with those things).

Word of advice: look in a dictionary next time before you start debating the meaning of words. You'll avoid embarrassment that way.

Alex Jones is not mentally ill, he's a con artist. He knows exactly what he's doing, just like Maddow does.

Can you or any of your fellow xenophobes please defend that ridiculous screen shot? Is there some evidence that the people named there are connected to Trump? Are they criminals?

In case you're wondering, the answer to both those questions is no, so why exactly is she putting all those names on display? What is the crime here? The crime is that... they are Russians. That's it. There's literally no other reason for their names to be displayed there.

Russaphobia is so endemic now and the "collusion" conspiracy theory is so accepted by millions of people that all Maddow needs to do is just say that Trump is in Davos, some Russians are in Davos, and boom, that's it, yet more evidence of "collusion". This is the kind of "logic" that Alex Jones and Glenn Beck got rich off of. Now Maddow is doing the same with a whole new group of customers.

[Snip - luv4u]. Who has an extreme hatred for people from other countries? Maddie??? Lol
It’s an investigation with participants from another country Sherlock. No one is singling them out, that’s just who it happens to be.
Now you’re even cherry picking with semantics instead of the issue at hand. The last resort of all lost arguments.

We're not talking about the investigation, [Snip - luv4u]. We're talking about Rachel Maddow trying to suggest that all those Russians at Davos have anything to do with Trump. They don't, so why is she putting all their names up? What have they done? Nothing. They're just Russian. For Rachel, that's enough.

And xenophobia is the subject of this whole thread so your misunderstanding of the word is not a small detail. It's central.

Thank you for proving yourself wrong. You said earlier that xenophobia is "mostly about race and religion". Yet the definition you yourself have provided says nothing about race or religion. What it specifically refers to are foreigners, meaning people from other countries. The word can be expanded somewhat, but, as your definition illustrates, it is mostly used to refer to bigotry based on nationality. Speaking of which....

The former head of the CIA James Clapper went on national TV last year and said that Russians were "almost genetically driven" to manipulate. That is textbook xenophobia, but no-one batted an eyelid. That's the climate we're in now.

I don't know what this is but if it's about how annoying her opening is - 12 minutes of set-up and 30 seconds of almost always underwhelming paydirt - then I hope it brings about change.
