Say goodbye to the internet as we know it. Trump to kill Net Neutrality.

The Turks take it on:

They know this will kill the left. Their plan. Slow down all the left wing platforms. The Org may be hard to get too as well. Very sad.

This is not partisan. Killing Net Neutrality is helpful for the Mass Media (left AND right) and harmful to the independent (left AND right).

CNN & MSNBC & Huffpost will benefit just as much as FOX & Breitbart. It might hurt YoungTurks but it might also hurt Infowars. So, not partisan.

It's about the corporate world monopolizing over independent enterprises, in media, in business, in everything that the interenet is used for.

i doubt it will have any noticeable effect other than they will be able to 'move' bandwidth to areas based on demand at any given time.

Anyone for banning the AR15 must be on the side of the criminal as once banned only criminals will have them.

Come on, Only. You know this will lead to the mass media and corporations monopolizing bandwith and squeezing out the independent. Everybody should be against this, regardless of politics.

You take the top twenty websites and find a smarter way to provide them outside the way net neutrality you decrease the pool and you will get faster and more economical internet. I think we have seen under Obama skyrocket, the price of cable, internet.

I'm sure you geniuses can pull up some stats on Cable Tv, Internet costs and see it's out of control!! Cable tv is in big trouble with streaming. You are probably overpaying for internet as it is and they can make technology that would cut that price down for them and you but you see how that works when gov steps in and controls how technology dictates.

Obama wanted Feds to go in and monitor Alt Media and to be able to shut down various websites like Infowars.

The internet is a truly democratic flatform and we can see how that has changed the discourse on various issues as a result.

I suppose this is an attempt to make certain information only available to some and not to others.
Some people may end up only being able to afford access to "Real housewives of Beverly Hills" CNN and Fox News.
Basically this will make access to certain information a bourgeois luxury, therefore making such information politically ineffective.

There is talk of creating new internet infrastructures to work over this problem.

Exactly. Communication Corporations like Comcast, Cox, and many others would like net neutrality to be discontinued so they can have all the control of the World Wide Web themselves. They have the freedom to overcharge their customers for internet services as well as decrease your downloading/uploading speed based up the content of your website, your social media accounts, etc.

This is Donald showing his true colors as a crony capitalist and a friend of his fellow plutocrats. It's an attack on the little guy. Your leader is evil and you should be opposing what he's doing here.

Fortunately I live in the UK so it shouldn't effect me, but it's deeply fucked up that this can even be considered. If only corporate media would talk about this real story the same way they talk about the fake Russian story, maybe people would stand up and stop it.

Thom Hartmann reminds us how radical the Boston Tea Party actually was:

The protest was against the East India Company, not the government.

Algorithms on Google are killing access to left wing sites. Many of them have lost huge amounts of traffic like Truthdig, Alternet. Blame the Dems because of their insanity on Russia. Anyone who even went on RT can be a Russia bot. bs.

I don't think you quite understand what Net Neutrality and the loss of it means.
If you pay your ISP, say Verizon, for a 60 mb/s service shouldn't they provide that service at all times or should they be allowed to slow your speed down to 1mb/s and still continue to charge you for 60mb/s speeds? (Verizon did exactly this in 2015 to their customers to extort Netflix for more money to provide their service to their paying customers)
This is what ISP's are now legally allowed to do now that Net Neutrality is revoked.

With Net Neutrality gone your government and big corporations control what you get to see, hear, buy and where to purchase it. This means access to whatever online is controlled by them now, like in China.
During elections ISP's can now direct you to the candidates they fund and restrict access to their opponents and dictate to you what is best for you.

The Internet as a market place is now controlled by your government and the companies that pay the most for access to them. You want access to cheaper stores abroad? Then pay a fee for access to them.

Do you enjoy Prince.org? Than prepare yourself to pay extra for a package (like a TV subscription) that carries it and other sites like it but only if your government allows the content on here to be allowed.

Your internet may become much more expensive, restricted and censored.

Net Neutrality existed since the beginning of the internet and was what allowed it to be such a huge success.

Censorship is a bad thing.

You will not be able to stay home, brother
You will not be able to plug in, turn on and drop out
You will not be able to lose yourself on skag and skip
Skip out for beer during commercials
Because the revolution will not be televised
The revolution will not be televised
The revolution will not be brought to you by Xerox
In 4 parts without commercial interruption
The revolution will not show you pictures of Nixon
Blowing a bugle and leading a charge by John Mitchell
General Abrams and Spiro Agnew to eat
Hog maws confiscated from a Harlem sanctuary
The revolution will not be televised
The revolution will be brought to you by the Schaefer Award Theatre and
will not star Natalie Wood and Steve McQueen or Bullwinkle and Julia
The revolution will not give your mouth sex appeal
The revolution will not get rid of the nubs
The revolution will not make you look five pounds
Thinner, because The revolution will not be televised, Brother
There will be no pictures of you and Willie Mays
Pushing that cart down the block on the dead run
Or trying to slide that color television into a stolen ambulance
NBC will not predict the winner at 8:32or the count from 29 districts
The revolution will not be televised
There will be no pictures of pigs shooting down
Brothers in the instant replay
There will be no pictures of young being
Run out of Harlem on a rail with a brand new process
There will be no slow motion or still life of
Roy Wilkens strolling through Watts in a red, black and
Green liberation jumpsuit that he had been saving
For just the right occasion
Green Acres, The Beverly Hillbillies, and
Hooterville Junction will no longer be so damned relevant
and Women will not care if Dick finally gets down with
Jane on Search for Tomorrow because Black people
will be in the street looking for a brighter day
The revolution will not be televised
There will be no highlights on the eleven o'clock News
and no pictures of hairy armed women Liberationists and
Jackie Onassis blowing her nose
The theme song will not be written by Jim Webb, Francis Scott Key
nor sung by Glen Campbell, Tom Jones, Johnny Cash
Englebert Humperdink, or the Rare Earth
The revolution will not be televised
The revolution will not be right back after a message
About a whitetornado, white lightning, or white people
You will not have to worry about a germ on your Bedroom
a tiger in your tank, or the giant in your toilet bowl
The revolution will not go better with Coke
The revolution will not fight the germs that cause bad breath
The revolution WILL put you in the driver's seat
The revolution will not be televised
WILL not be televised, WILL NOT BE TELEVISED
The revolution will be no re-run brothers
The revolution will be live
