It's not important. And then they make up some bullshit term and pretend that it automatically makes their take on their bullshit real.

And like I said, the other racist bullshit term I despise is "gentrification". GTFOUH with that bullsit. It's call the real estate market.

SO WHAT! How do "they" affect you? Do "they" impede ur daily coming and going?

yeah right 2elijah. 👀 maybe the term "they" is so readily used by the self appointed neo overseer colonists due to laziness.

to get mad over 'gentrification' is short-sighted. It is part of the process and cycle of things. What I have seen in many arguments is that the RICH people take over a poor area and improve it to the point where the poor people have to move. Okay, and what would happen if that never happened? Would the areas get so run down to be uninhabitable? So the people mad just think rich people should NOT be allowed to buy property in some areas? Or that they should be forced to invest their money to fix it all up but not pass that cost of investment to the people there?

I know people in an area that is being rebuilt! Some are renters forces out and those houses are being demolished and rebuilt into much more expensive ones. Other homeowners are being offered way more than their homes are worth and some are taking the money and others are not. The risk is that they may well end up losing their houses as they may not be able to pay the higher taxes due to higher property values caused by having higher value homes in the area.

yes, it sucks. I get that. but it seems necessary to me. And if all areas that were populated by lower income people were left to rot then we would be talking about that!

Why is it only a choice of two extremes?

Don't bother answering. I know. Because it's the only way to make sense of one of those extremes. Limit the choices.

Not sure it is: I think that people do often help fix up and rebuild areas that need help. But that is often more of an act of charity as opposed to an investment. Due to how the local tax system works sometimes even that can cause people to no longer afford that area.

And. if you want to invest in something you want to pay the least possible and get the best return possible. Right?

W.E.B. Du Bois – The father of modern Pan-Africanism? http://newafricanmagazine...fricanism/ As 2013 comes to a close, we remember Dr William Edward Burghardt Du Bois (better known as W.E.B. Du Bois), the father of modern pan-Africanism and a leading African-American intellectual of the 20th century, who died 50 years ago in Ghana. Though his death was barely noticed by the world, coming a day before the 28 August 1963 March on Washington at which Martin Luther King gave his “I Have a Dream” speech, Du Bois still stands tall in the memory of the people his life affected in the USA and around the world, Leslie Gordon Goffe reports from New York.

"Pan-Africanism", as in the movement was around long before Dr. Dubois wasn't it? Paul Cuffee , Prince Hall,(pre-emancipation) and Garvey are some names that immediately come to mind as forerunners of the movement.

This is pretty comical given how much and how often black American culture is 'appropriated' around the globe and then not even considered to be black American art anymore because it's "everyone's thing" now.....what a joke this topic is really.
