Hurray! I can walk again!

Thanks OBAMA CARE!

I was uninsured for ten years before OBAMA CARE.

If it wasn't for OBAMA CARE I'd be spending half my waking hour in a leg brace or a wheel chair.

I'd probably have to be on disability to survive.

That would cost the tax payers a hell of a lot more than my knee operation did.

highfive Congrats, Queenie! I'm happy for you! biggrin I know how you feel, I just had eye surgery myself and without it and an insurance, I'd probably be blind on one eye. It's at times like these when you realize how important and special those things you've always taken for granted, like walking and seeing and hearing, actually are. But in my country, everybody is insured; it's the most normal thing in the world. I just hope Trump won't ruin it for you.

Very very happy for you hug There are so many who are critical of ACA but they can not outnumber those who have been helped by it.

Not propaganda.

Just gratitude! bananadance

And sick of hearing people bitch about what a horrible thing Obama Care is.

There are 20 million Americans just like me and the "Real America" needs to hear our side of the story once in a while.

But go ahead and be cynical about my motives.

It suits you.

I would expect nothing less.

Thanks for the good wishes, and God Bless. wink kiss2

I was just in the "bitch" mood, nothing personal, and not serious at all, as almost all of my posts.

wave Queenie!

Good for you and hope you're taking care of yourself. I am having to reapply for ACA insurance right now and am worried but hopefully I will be covered at least for 2017. Next year all bets are off. Many taxpayers do not realize all the costs that are passed on to them when we don't have a basic healthcare system that is affordable for everyone. One poster on another thread is a children's daycare worker who is concerned about losing ACA insurance. Yeah, of course people who take care of our children should be struggling to keep healthcare, not.

any current plans with a given term will be honored until at least the end of the term. So if you signed up in Dec 2016 that plan will be honored for the remainder of 2017.

and what is happening now is not being done as some have suggested in the dead of night in a smoke-filled back room in secret. It is not something they are hiding. And it is what they can do with or without much of any democratic support under existing rules. As the Dems have said they will block any attempts to change anything in the ACA all they can do to try to improve it (not understanding or agreeing that it is meant to just that is not really something we can debate). So use of what should have been done 6 years ago is fair and well within the law and history of congress (which is of course not a reason in and of itself to do it).

make no mistake: they are on the path to repeal it... and replace it. But without democrat support, they are limited to repealing parts of it. So it seems like a tactic to get dems on board.

and remember the President said if there is a better plan then he would support it! now maybe we will see if he means it or not.

See this is how some people think: if you do not agree with them enough you must be opposed to the same goal.

In this case (the ACA) when it was being debated the left loved to lie and say that the right doesn't want people to have affordable health care. Which is again a lie. what their warped minds could not see and their twisted mouths could not articulate was that they were 100% on board with lowering the cost and improving access and quality. (which of course can not be done but that is a different point).

Republicans offered many ideas. But barack and his "sit in back" and "we won" so we do not want to hear it attitude... they were all ignored.

when the shutdown happened that was the fault o Harry Reid and the senate democrats. But again the left ignores facts *such as the last of the bills rejected on their face simply called for bipartisan talks to go over the ACA to try to make improvements. (add to that one of the bill was to delay the mandate for a year--something barack did illegally later on anyway)... it all goes to show that the ones that are actually not willing to work with the other side are democrats.
