How many jobs were created/saved by the stimulus?

Enter the words stimulus, jobs, and reportin a Google News search and these are just some of the headlines you will receive:

Stimulus Job Report Filled With Errors
Stimulus Watch: Salary raises counted as saved jobs
White House Tally Appears to Overstate Stimulus Jobs
Reports Show Conflicting Number of Jobs Attributed to Stimulus Money
Stimulus Watchdog: job counters confused, need guidance
Why stimulus jobs aren’t here to stay
Many California jobs ’saved’ by stimulus funds weren’t in jeopardy

So was the stimulus Obama signed a failure or is it just too early to tell?

The last time unemployment climbed past 10 percent, "The A-Team" was one of the top 10 TV shows and Michael Jackson was about to release "Thriller."

Good Times - Good Times.

The stimulus is stretched over ten years, calm down.

All smart economists say the stimulus was too small. A second one is possible, beyond the ravings of Glenn Beck.

To be honest here, the actual number of jobs created or saved by the stimulus package will likely never be known. The most recent number that I came across was 30,000 jobs were created. Now, keep in mind that only a small amount of the stimulus money has been released. The first wave went to save states that were hard hit and need money quickly, and those numbers will not show up in the employment picture. So we will never know the actual numbers.

Plus, I gotta agree with 2freaky, economists on both sides of the political picture agree that it is way to early to get a vibe on something that is projected to take 5-10 years to see signs of real growth.

try to google "financial crises 2008" or something, since you must have missed a bit of the news. you will be surprised to learn what happened over a year ago, even shocked (unless you have already witnessed the great depression of the 30ees) err lol

Good times indeed, thank you "capitalism" and thank you idiotic deregulations thumbs up!
