I watched the whole thing. Why is Stewart the only person asking these people to prove their claims? As a healthcare provider, using the idea of educating patients on healthcare options and giving them more control in making their own decisions to put fear into the general public is pissing me off. I think their is plenty to debate. But, the type of nonsense flying around is embarrassing me. “Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.”

The clips won't play in Canada. We are stardust. We are golden.

I don't have cable anymore and so haven't seen The Daily Show for ages so I guess I missed this. But back when I did watch it I often found myself wondering why a joke newscaster often asked harder hitting questions and engaged in more serious debates with his guests than most all "real" news sources do. I suppose because Stewart is framed as a comedy act he can get away with more than your average corporately-owned news program could. Which is itself a sad commentary on the state of modern journalism. http://watch.thecomedynet...clip204167 http://watch.thecomedynet...clip205988 [Edited 8/23/09 13:29pm] | |

If that is not what it is, then why do so many officials refuse to address it?

speaks volumes that you are more concerned about a comedian being a tool, than about the lying illiterate uninformed "politician" he exposed. she's an obvious tool distorting facts and spreading nonsense for med insurances and pharma industry, yet no complain from your side. why ? because it seems completly normal to you? your priorites pretty much gave a good indication on how American "politics" work comedians entertain. but fuckit, politicians run your country! so better care about the phoney tools that REALLY matter now back to the Limbaugh archives .
