Jon Stewart's Da Man As He Exposed Ms Death Panel

Jon did it again as he this time exposed Betsy McCaughey (Ms Death Panel) 4 her nuttiness.

Now, suddenly after making a complete fool of herself on his show, she resigned from the board of directors of Cantel Medical Corp., a medical products company, "supposedly" to "avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest."

Now Keith Olbermann delved into this further with his "Worst Person In the World" segment.

I watched the whole thing. Why is Stewart the only person asking these people to prove their claims? As a healthcare provider, using the idea of educating patients on healthcare options and giving them more control in making their own decisions to put fear into the general public is pissing me off. I think their is plenty to debate. But, the type of nonsense flying around is embarrassing me.

The clips won't play in Canada. pout

I don't have cable anymore and so haven't seen The Daily Show for ages so I guess I missed this. But back when I did watch it I often found myself wondering why a joke newscaster often asked harder hitting questions and engaged in more serious debates with his guests than most all "real" news sources do. I suppose because Stewart is framed as a comedy act he can get away with more than your average corporately-owned news program could. Which is itself a sad commentary on the state of modern journalism.

If that is not what it is, then why do so many officials refuse to address it?

If it is not meant to talk elderly into refusing more costly life substantiating treatments then what is it? Remember barack said in reference to a hypothetical elderly heart patient that we need to be able to tell her "maybe you're better off not having the surgery but talking a the pain killer."

He also said that if the 'evidence shows' that a treatment will not 'necessarily improve care' then maybe it should not be provided. If you know what the word "necessarily" means then you will know that what he said was "that might help." In he said was that if the evidence shows a treatment is less than 100% effective then it is not worth the expense for some patients.

Now that may not be what he meant to say. But it is what he said.

speaks volumes that you are more concerned about a comedian being a tool, than about the lying illiterate uninformed "politician" he exposed. she's an obvious tool distorting facts and spreading nonsense for med insurances and pharma industry, yet no complain from your side. why ? because it seems completly normal to you? your priorites pretty much gave a good indication on how American "politics" work

comedians entertain. but fuckit, politicians run your country! so better care about the phoney tools that REALLY matter

now back to the Limbaugh archives
