Cave complex may lie beneath Giza Pyramids

updated 10:37 a.m. CT, Fri., Aug 14, 2009

An enormous system of caves, chambers and tunnels lies hidden beneath the Pyramids of Giza, according to a British explorer who claims to have found the lost underworld of the pharaohs.

i wonder if it's true that in the old days, Giza was known as Rostau, meaning the "mouth of the passages" ?? anyone up on their egyptology ?

There is untouched archaeology down there, as well as a delicate ecosystem that includes colonies of bats and a species of spider which we have tentatively identified as the white widow," British explorer Andrew Collins said

eek omfg white widow spider eek

According to Collins, the caves which are tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of years old may have both inspired the development of the pyramid field and the ancient Egyptian's belief in an underworld.

"Ancient funerary texts clearly allude to the existence of a subterranean world in the vicinity of the Giza pyramids," Collins told Discovery News

it is necessary to help others, not only in our prayers, but in our daily lives. If we find we cannot help others, the least we can do is to desist from harming them.

I hope we can learn what the original purpose of those caverns was. I'm not too keen on bats or spiders.

Allrighty then, eek

I was thinking of something more along the lines of finding some more hieroglyphs or ancient writings.

Instead of saying that humans live on the outside surface of a hollow planet, sometimes called a "convex" hollow-Earth hypothesis, some have claimed that our universe itself lies in the interior of a hollow world, calling this a "concave" hollow-Earth hypothesis. The surface of the Earth, according to such a view, might resemble the interior shell of a Dyson sphere. Generally, scientists have taken neither type of speculation seriously.

hmm a shell earth wrapped around the universe...

In one chapter of his book On the Wild Side (1992), Martin Gardner discusses the hollow Earth model articulated by Abdelkader. According to Gardner, this hypothesis posits that light rays travel in circular paths, and slow as they approach the center of the spherical star-filled cavern. No energy can reach the center of the cavern, which corresponds to no point a finite distance away from Earth in the widely accepted scientific cosmology. A drill, Gardner says, would lengthen as it traveled away from the cavern and eventually pass through the "point at infinity" corresponding to the center of the Earth in the widely accepted scientific cosmology. Supposedly no experiment can distinguish between the two cosmologies. Martin Gardner notes that "most mathematicians believe that an inside-out universe, with properly adjusted physical laws, is empirically irrefutable". Gardner rejects the concave hollow Earth hypothesis on the basis of Occam's Razor.

i don't think i agree with the concave hollow earth earth theory. but, i do think it's possible our planet earth has a lot of really BIG bubbles/pockets in its sub-strate that could have formed when it was cooling.

i wonder how water would work if there were dual worlds, outer and inner?

there would have to be some kind of equilibrium field to keep water from behaving as it would in an hourglass and flooding the caverns, keep it lying 'flat' from everyone's perspective. or, is water their sky? how would that work? or do they live in different/thicker atmospheres? maybe gravity is both centrifugal and centripital? geek hmmm lol shrug

This is one of many major event predicted to happen during this period of time.

Another is the confirmation that there are indeed others among us.

The discovery of who we are is supposed to lie in relics hidden inside these caves.
