GA Senator: Obama Needs To Be Held Down With “Gorilla Glue”

P reports “Former Georgia Senator Zell Miller, a Democrat, has apparently had it with President Obama’s “globe-trotting” ways. On the day the President addressed the NAACP on its 100th anniversary, Miller issued a statement that Rahm Emanuel ought to get some gorilla glue and put it in the chair in the Oval Office and say, sit here awhile.” A “Hardball” panel takes Miller to task for the “despicable language” Miller used. ”

Another fuckin' racist idiot.

I don't think Zell meant it in a racist way, but he definitely should have chosen his words more wisely.

Then why not refer to products like Elmers Glue, or Super Glue, or Krazy Glue? He was using Gorilla to be racist.

True... , but a very poor choice of words especially when there's an ugly history behind these types of coparisons.

.... and if you want to come off sounding racist, saying something like that is the right way to do it. wink

No. I GET IT. Calling a black man a gorilla is not kewl. DURRRRR

But what I'm saying is that if the tone is that President Obama is not spending enough time in the Oval Office, and he suggests using something to hold him in the chair, and if Gorilla Glue is some of the most adhesive and name recognized brand, what's the problem?

You see, we have this problem here in Mid-Michigan where a company named Beaner's changed their name due to pressure that their name was offensive. People generally understood that the name was a play on coffee bean aficionados. The complaints were still heard, the company listened and explained their stance, and eventually came to a decision to change their name to Biggby (the original logo was a Big "B"). But the point was that the company never really meant to hurt anybody's feelings or did it with mal-intent.

Trust me... I've seen the emails, I've seen the right-wing videos. YES THEY DO ALLUDE TO HIM AS A GORILLA, MONKEY, AND OTHER RACIST SHIT. But in this case, it really sounds like an over-exaggeration and somewhat of a witch hunt for switching parties a few years ago.

Yeah, he probably chose "Gorilla Glue" specifically, so he could impart a racist blast yet be able to say, "Hey, it's a real product and it's really strong".

Zell Miller is an absolute moron, and the fact that anyone puts him on TV is almost more disturbing than anything Miller says.

Ignore Miller, and know that he is certifiably insane.

Anyone remember when Miller lost it at the 2004 GOP convention and challenged Chris Matthews to a duel? What a nut.
