Like I have been screaming from the mountaintops, REPUBLICANS ARE NOT CONSERVATIVE. AND ESPECIALLY NOT FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE. THEY are the party that said, "Deficits don't matter". THEY are the party that took a budget surplus to an immediate deficit, and then expanded it exponentially - all while they controlled every facet of federal government. Those of you that think the GOP needs to "get back to its conservative roots" have been PLAYED. How can you not see that? Valid? Everything. Uniting? He was the target of some pretty petty and low accusations in those protests. I was at the location of one for the better part of an hour that day; that he responded this way can only be characterized as taking the high road. But, knowing how extensive the threats and slurs against him were during his campaign, I guess I should just expect him to be classy about the protests, too. | |
