Billboard Depicts Obama Wearing A Turban

News-Leader.com
October 10, 2008

A billboard in West Plains, Mo., showing a caricature of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama wearing a turban has caused quite a stir in town.

The sign, located south of West Plains on U.S. 63 across from the Dairy Queen, says: "Barack 'Hussein' Obama equals more abortions, same sex marriages, taxes, gun regulations."

Hussein is Obama's middle name. His Kenyan father was Muslim, but Obama grew up in a Christian family.

Throughout the presidential campaign, Obama has fought Internet rumors that he's Muslim.

Howell County Democrats are upset about the sign.

"Not only is it lying, but it's also in poor taste," Jim Vokac, president of the Howell County Democrats Club, told the News-Leader. "It certainly is free speech, but it's poor taste. It does reflect poorly on the area."

The West Plains Daily Quill reports no one has claimed responsibility for the sign.

Of course no one is going to take responsibility.
It's America.

isn't there some sort of sign ordinance in that town? if it was put up without a permit, take it down. if there was a permit, make the people who designed this grow a pair and own up. somebody is covering for somebody, it looks like.

I counted at least 19 nails in that billboard. If it were constructed on the spot, someone should have heard the noise. If it were constructed elsewhere, someone should have noticed a big billboard on the back of someone's truck or on top of their car.

The pathetic just never cease to amaze me! disbelief

YES WE DID!!! President Barack Obama!!!

It's time to Speak On It, America!

The irony of this is that the ignoramuses that keep tying to tie his platform to being a Muslim clearly have no idea that the very society issues he supports are in direct opposition to Muslim beliefs falloff

Wow, just displays their ignorance. Funny thing is they have "gun regulation" there as though it's a problem, when they should be happy we are trying to keep the streets of America from guns getting in the hands of the wrong people.

Also, the fear should be towards the people that posts these ridiculous, racists nonsense. Imagine, them just walking amongst us every day with that built up hate. Sooner or later they'll let the pressure of their hate kill them. Not only that, I think they are just using the muslim excuse to cover up that they do not want a Black Man in the white house.

People are going to look back and remember all this racist crap when this particular election ran. It will go in America's history books. Another scar and shame in American history. When will people learn?

Secondly, I bet many arab nations are watching America's hatred towards Arabs, adn those of the muslim faith. Silly thing is, anyone can be a muslim, and to continuously associate the religion to only Arabs really shows America's ignorance.
