Has anyone noticed that John McCain is pitching his war history like 50 Cent?

I've been watching parts of this GOP convention, and it seems that all of the Republicans have been hammering away at John McCain's military experience and his time as a POW in Vietnam as though this is reason enough for him to become President. It's almost exactly the same way that 50 Cent pitched his first album Get Rich of Die Tryin' when he and his handlers kept harping on how he got shot nine times. Little was said about his beats, his lyrical skills, or his musicianship. Chris Rock said something about that in Bigger and Deffer:

50 Cent got shot nine times!

Yeah, but what about his beats?
He got shot nine times!

How's his lyrical flow?
He got shot nine times!

What about his rhymes?
He got shot nine times!

I see the same ting happening with John McCain's campaign. It's all about how he's a war hero, but there's no substance about how he'll deal with the economy or bring health care to the people or create jobs or deal with the housing and banking crisis.

John McCain was a POW in Vietnam who serves his country well and is a war hero!

But how will he jumpstart the economy?

How will he deal with the housing crisis?

There are people out there who think military means you can run the country. Then again, there are also people who think actors can.
