okay.... what the hell is lieberman talking about?

"what you can expect from john mccain as president is precisely what he has done this week: put our country first."

what has mccain done in the last week that put america first?

picked a veep without bothering to check her background at all? how is handing power to a person you know almost nothing about putting our country first?

Feed it to them until they're stuffed and start to believe it.
Or more fascistically,( and realistically) they will simply
apply the distraction of questioning the patriotism (and no doubt, in code, your allegiance to the race . . . ) of anyone who doesn't fall into line.

And because ignorance is in such vogue, citizens lose their rights and forget they ever had them. If a bimbo can be President, who needs an education?

Meanwhile, civic knowledge is enhanced by discussing public affairs, taking part in civic activities and reading about current events and history, the group said.

This whole convention is as nutty as a Pay Day!!!

One minute, you have Fred (still clearing his throat) Thompson talking about how Conservative and traditional McCain is compared to how liberal Obama is. Talking about Obama using a teleprompter WHILE using a teleprompter!!!

Then you have LIEberman talking about how much of a "Maverick" McCain is!!!

Either he's a Good OL' Boy, or he's a rebel. He can't be both!!!

It's hard to understand Joe, 'cause he's talking out of his ass!!!

You know, every time I hear him say those words ("country first") it only makes me think that he doesn't care about the outside world. But I would love to sneak into the RNC, with a group of about 100, and every time the crowd or someone on the stage says those words, we would respond, "Planet Earth first, Planet Earth first..." After all, to me, the USA is where I can be located on the map, but I reside on Planet Earth. "country first" is just as divisive as "we can't stand four more years of..."

You know what they say about arguing on the internet… It’s a lot like running a race in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you’re still retarded. nod

Lieberman is a little weasel!

I bet he was promised some cabinet position.

You know.. this sounds horrible.. but I am sick of hearing about McCain being a war hero. A person doesn't have to be a war hero to be patriotic. What else does he bring to the table except his military experience? I just do not think he is necessarily very intellectual. Sorry. Yes, it is commendable being a war hero, but that was then, this is now.

You know, I think the Republicans always use diversion in elections. They always play to this patriotic thing.. and you know being socially conservative.

And the American public votes them into office based upon these abstract ideas without really considering the issues.

'Putting country first' and 'service'... This is the usual talking points strategy they do all the time. Repeat it over and over and over and over again and the sea of well-to-do caucasian faces on the TV screen will believe it.
lol

Did anyone notice the 3 minorities in the audience were conveniently standing near Cindy McCain? lol You'd think they were ALL about diversity from a few of the camera angles. falloff

Tomorrow night, I hear their going place a few go-go boys beside Larry Craig.

He was promised the VP position. But you know, McCain had to put the cuntry first by giving his slot to someone who would please the hysterics of the right wing.

Because he caucuses with the Dems and they need that in order to have an official majority. By having that official majority, the Dems get to control all the committees.

If Lieberman didn't caucus with the Dems, it would be a tie and the Dems and Repubs would have to split the committee chairmanships.

we must, however, take positives from any situation and not let the seemingly overwhelming forces of nonsense wear us down.

From Liberman's speech I have now a reference point for designing unimaginative talks, whilst simultaneously clouding the issues, championing my own position and angeling to feather my own nest.

Really? I couldn't find any in the audience from any of the camera angles. Not a very colorful audience like the Democratic Convention had. The attendees in the Democratic Convention reflected the faces of America. As for the Republican Convention....well...1, 2, 3.... hmmm
