Bill's Speech

Sit down (and shut up already! smile)

I love this . .
Here to support Barak Obama and second I'm here to warm up the crowd or Joe Biden.
What a year we Democrats have had.
Hard fought contest to the very end.
Increased global warming (good joke)
My candidate didn't win but I'm proud of the campaign she ran (Really?!)
Last night Hillary told us in no uncertain terms that she is going to do everything she can to elect Barak Obama, that makes two of us. (I don't believe it)
Actually that makes 18 million of us. (No one voted for Obama? s/b 36 million)
Perspective as a former President.
Trouble on two fronts. American dream under siege. Image in trouble overseas.
Our position in the world has been weakened by too much unilateralism . . .
Failure to use the power of diplomacy.
(He's speaking to the public, not just the party . . . I like that.)
Barak Obama is the man for this job. (I don't believe you mean it though.)
his first Presidential decision, the selection of a running mate, he hit it out of the park (No one thinks you believe THAT Bill.)
Barak Obama is ready to lead and restore American leadership in the world.

This sell is too hard. The party by making him its nominee should already believe he is ready.
Back in forefront of the fight against global warning (When did we ever lead)
HIV and AIDS here at home (yes!)
Military force as a last resort. (We like killing people . . )
(I'm disappointed, but why is this his first time speaking on behalf of Obama?)
Most important of all America cannot be strong abroad unless we are first strong at home.
People overseas have always been more impressed by the power of our example rather than the example of our power.
Now he's getting good. . . .
Yes, he can, but first we have to elect him.
Onto McCain . . . . How to rebuild the American dream and how to restore America's place in the world.
Bill is good. He should have been doing this for the past two months. Bastard.

Thanks but no thanks. In this case the third time is not the charm.
The Republicans said I was too young and too inexperienced to be Commander in Chief.
America must always be a place called Hope.

Loved it but why wait so long to say it? It rings hollow.
U2, Beautiful Day. . . None of the songs they are playing are sung by the artists . . boo

Meanwhile, civic knowledge is enhanced by discussing public affairs, taking part in civic activities and reading about current events and history, the group said.

Which is why we have P & R!

Did anyone see John Kerry's speech??? Were the hell was HE in 2004???

BTW, Accujack. Bill Clinton was in the middle of a long and drawn out Political Primary Campaign.

It's politics. I've seen boxers beating the shit out of each other, then hug and kiss after the fight was over.

Just because he was competing against Obama then, doesn't mean he's not supporting him now!!!

JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

C'mon dude, seriously??

What is Bill supposed to do, keep campaigning for Hillary, urge Dems to vote McCain? Of course he's going to say "support Obama now" no matter WHAT he said in January... It's the friggin' convention!! Of course he's going to praise Obama it'd be political suicide not to!

Like I actually believe that Romney or Huckabee are going to speak negatively about McCain during the rest of this election or during the convention.

I was thinking the same thing about Kerry. He was great. That's the Kerry we needed to hear in '04.

As for Bubba, he knocked that isht out of the park! That speech will do more to unify the dems than any other I've heard so far. He exceeded my expectations.

Obama...Hail To The Chief!

Yes, I guess I have to agree that I liked his speech. I was feeling the unity of the crowd when he spoke.

In David Mamet's satire about the movie business Speed the Plow there are two been-round-the-block producers arguing back and forth on the subject of art vs. money, and at one point there's a funny line where one of them turns to the other and says exasperatedly, "You’re a bought-and-paid-for whore, and you think you’re a ballerina cause you work with your legs.”

That always pops into my head when I hear Bill Clinton speak. I can't help it.....
