Black in America with Soledad O'Brien

We should all watch this

Did you know that companies in the US have said they would hire a white
man with a felony record and no high school education BEFORE they would
hire a black man with NO criminal record and a 4-year degree?

On July 23 at and July 24, CNN will premier a
series, "Black in America with Soledad O'Brien" and I personally
challenge you to watch it WITH your children, especially your sons, if
you have any, uninterrupted. The aforementioned statistics and many
others will be revealed during the series.

A friend had the privilege of meeting with Soledad O'Brien and
actually SEEING this premier, and what she saw brought tears
to her eyes and anguish, frustration, and a sense of helplessness to her soul.

The first night the series will focus on Women and Families and the
second night is dedicated entirely to the plight of the Black Man in America .
I beg and plead with you PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE watch and internalize
What you see and hear; no matter HOW disturbing the information

I'm already waiting with eager anticipation! Every time I see the promo, my anticipation builds. Unfortunately, it's not going to reveal anything that Black people don't already know! However, if it enlightens any of the rest of America, it'll definitely be a show worth watching!

I'm sure that it on't be anything that will surprise me anyway, because I live and work around white american everyday and KNOW how it is. But thank you for the information.

Watched the first part last night. Was pretty interesting. Have my own personal views about the beginning but will leave that alone. It did cover some important issues dealing with working single mothers, successful African-Americans, African-Americans within a family on various economic issues, hiv/aids and how it affects our community, (just to be clear hiv/aids affect all communities, whether you are black, white, hispanic, asian, straight or gay); also covered black women in interracial relationships and those who chose to date within their own race regardless of the shortage of available black males.

Part two airs tonight on CNN and will focus on the Black Male in America. 9pm Eastern time (reairs at 12am).

I watched last night as well. I find they didn't discuss an aspect I deal with when it comes to interracial relationships and that is black men not being attracted to me.

So far this show has been very interesting.

i'm sorry but back to you. i don't even know what that's supposed to mean. sorry i'm testy and all but i see this nation literally falling apart - from its infrastructure to its economy - and people are still pushing the racial divide stories? i can't imagine its for any other reason than distraction. did the story say anything new? did it offer any solutions or did it just point out all the problems? and to make it a series of shows? come on, man!
