HRH Prince Philip Ignorant,Racist or Funny?

Prince Philip is married to Queen Elizabeth II of England,He is quite famous in Britain for making some rather embarrassing,though often hilarious comments.heres a list of his best quotes,tho some people consider them ignorant,insensitive and racist.(i dont )

Speaking to a driving instructor in Scotland, he asked: "How do you keep the natives off the booze long enough to get them through the test?"

When visiting China in 1986, he told a group of British students, "If you stay here much longer, you'll all be slitty-eyed".

After accepting a gift from a Kenyan citizen he replied, "You are a woman, aren't you?"

To a British student in Papua New Guinea: "You managed not to get eaten then?"

Angering local residents in Lockerbie when on a visit to the town in 1993, the Prince said to a man who lived in a road where eleven people had been killed by wreckage from the Pan Am jumbo jet: "People usually say that after a fire it is water damage that is the worst. We are still trying to dry out Windsor Castle."

On a visit to the new National Assembly for Wales in Cardiff, he told a group of deaf children standing next to a Jamaican steel drum band, "Deaf? If you are near there, no wonder you are deaf."

In 2002, he asked an Indigenous Australian businessman, "Do you still throw spears at each other?"

Said to a Briton in Budapest, Hungary, "You can't have been here that long – you haven't got a pot belly." (1993)

Seeing a shoddily installed fuse box in a high-tech Edinburgh factory, HRH remarked that it looked "like it was put in by an Indian".

"Aren't most of you descended from pirates?" (in 1994, to an islander in the Cayman Islands)

At the height of the recession in 1981 he said: "Everybody was saying we must have more leisure. Now they are complaining they are unemployed."

In 1987, he wrote in his book If I Were an Animal that "In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve overpopulation."

I think Prince Philip isnt a bad person,he just says whats on his mind,you have to admit he is funny

I tend to think people like that pass off their true thoughts for humor. But obviously I don't know the man personally so who knows...

Seems like a racist to me... but no more racist than a lot of American comedians...

Actually I've just read it properly, and I would like to redirect my soapbox rant to the media this time because I think that a lot of it is taken out of context and perhaps said within a conversation to someone who it sounded perfectly normal to. For example the quote about Lockerbie; NOONE would have said that off the cuff, its ridiculous, he was probably talking to some poor man who was in terrible shock, and who's house had been flattened as opposed to someone who's relative was on board. He was probably chatting away about the damage, in which case, its not all that stupid or funny.

Because at the end of the day, the media took these quotes and usd them to their own advantage as they do with everyone else!

They don't automatically know better cause they've got blue blood! Some of them are actually that stupid

I am not at all surprised that we have a Royal who acts like that, but then you seem to hold a higher opinion of them than I do, for it wouldn't be hard after all....

well maybe not but it has bin on the news b4 cuz i remember when he sed "You could do with losing a bit of weight." and that kid was very upset also he has spoken about his stupid (trying 2 cover up ) outbursts on t.v
