I found this by mistake on YouTube. THIS is interesting! eek

BTW, there is absolute no excuse for a man to ever hit a woman (apart from self-defense). With that said, you have to wonder if this revelation was the reason why Bishop Thomas W. Weeks III really wanted to hurt Juanita. In other words, did she have another woman on the side? hmmm

BTW, here the run down on the previous controversy BEFORE this latest one:

http://www.essence.com/es...38,00.html

(Updated August 24, 2007) Bishop Thomas W. Weeks III, 54, the estranged husband of world-renowned evangelist and prophetess Juanita Bynum, surrendered to Atlanta police Friday on charges that he attacked his wife.

Weeks reportedly made no comments when he arrived at the jail with a lawyer on Friday morning. A hearing is reportedly scheduled this morning at the Fulton County Jail, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Early Wednesday morning, Bynum was allegedly assaulted by Weeks in an Atlanta parking lot, according to police. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the estranged couple met at the Renaissance Concourse Hotel to discuss a possible reconciliation, but the the talks turned violent when Weeks allegedly attacked Bynum. Officer Ronald Campbell of the Atlanta Police Department told reporters Weeks left leaving bruising "around her neck and upper torso.” A hotel bellman who witnessed the alleged assault in the parking lot physically pulled Weeks away from his wife.

It is reported that Weeks left the scene of the attack, according to police. Warrants had been issued for Weeks, who has been charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of terrorist threats against Bynum.

According to a lawyer for Weeks, the Bishop plans to continue his ministry and to try to reconcile with his wife after the allegations are dealt with, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

"He is extremely sad over the events that have taken place," said Edward Garland, one of the two attorneys representing Weeks. "I think there is hope on his part that the relationship can get past these difficult moments."

Bynum, who is said to be with family members, released this statement on Thursday:

“I am currently recovering from all of my injuries and resting well. There are so many great things happening for me in my future and so much to look foward to concerning my destiny. This too shall pass. The Bible says in Proverbs 4:25: 'Let your eyes look right on with fixed purpose and let your gaze be straight before you.' Thank you for your concern and please continue to pray for my recovery!"

Bynum, 48, a Pentecostal evangelist, is well-known for her inspiring messages and music aimed at empowering women. She gained much of her notoriety after preaching a sermon entitled "No More Sheets" at a T.D. Jakes conference several years ago, which encouraged women to free themselves from promiscuity. Bynum is also the author of The New York Times best seller The Threshing Floor, as well as My Spiritual Inheritance and Matters of the Heart Devotions for Women. Weeks is the founder of Global Destiny Ministries, based in Duluth, Georgia.

Weeks and Bynum were married in a televised "million-dollar" celebration back in 2003. One thousand guests were in attendance for the luxe affair, which included an 80-member wedding party, a 12-piece orchestra and a 7.76-carat diamond ring. When asked about her all-out nuptials, Bynum commented in Ebony magazine, "This was my once-in-a-lifetime wedding, and I did it this way because I plan to stay married."

We reap what we sow.

this person "exposing" Juanita has to answer to her own sins.

Even is Juanita is "struggling" with her sexuality, this person isn't for the betterment of Juanita nor is she really exposing anything. It seems revengeful and seems to come from a Jealous spirit.

Man, folks really do ignore those big ole planks Jesus mentioned huh.

Yep, it's true - She was/is having an affair with another woman and her hubby was mainly pissed because if it got public it would hurt their image, especially their money earning ability. That's why he went off on her. I got this from a very close source to the couple.

Fair enough. But in Deela Jones' case, she is fed up with these Sunday-Keeping con-artists for teaching false doctrines in the name of making money off of "Christians" (the real victims, BTW) & living their professional lives like a bunch of lying hypocrites that they are.

Juanita isn't the first to be guilty of this (Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swagger, anyone?), and she will not be the last. But lately, this kind of controversy seem to hit the black middle class the hardest.

hmmmmm....and I do believe that Jim Baker and Swagger are both Christian men.

I'm a Christian and a hypocrite at times. So I can't speaking to if Juanita is a Christian with the "" or not.

I don't see this as just "exposing" someone but it comes off revengeful, she cusses throughout the video clips and even calls them "nasty hoes".

Now do I think that God will have his day and he will expose your stuff if you keep on misrepresenting his Word, YES. Maybe the chickens have come home to roost. I think the author of the video clips just needs to watch the seeds she's sowing as well. We should not gloat in the fall of our enemies. The Bible says for us not to rejoice.

I just believe that God will handle Juanita but because I do believe he looks at motives, the author needs to really watch herself.

Lastly though, I think if Christians stopped idol worshiping then some wouldn't fall victim to some those preachers who are trying to get their money, etc. I just believe we have some responsibility in our walk that isn't just up to the preacher. We have to read the Word for ourselves

I'm not saying kill the messenger or that she's lying but her whole inarticulate delivery interspersed with cynical laughter makes her sound like a blithering, spiteful idiot.

IMO televangelists are paid entertainers and what they do should be advertised as spiritual entertainment. With that understood, if people still choose to spend their money on in then so be it.

No, youtube doesn't like me much, it takes a while to show on my computer. What were the clips of? And yep, he's ONLY looking at it from a financial point of view.

That Deena Jones person is Sick Sick Sick. Did you watch the "I wanna be Juanita Bynum" skit? eek

I couldn't agree with you more about the idol worshipping. We need to follow Jesus and Jesus only. Stop following the preacher, the churh, the governing body, or whatever else we put in place of Jesus. And by all means, read the scriptures for ourselves.

LMAO!! I clicked on the side bar too when viewing the links in that other thread, too! lol I was just coming to post this! razz

These false prophets have got to be stopped! Deena Jones is not a journalist so her deliverance of the message leaves a lot to be desired. However, I ain't mad at her! These superstar prophets are robbing people blind all in the name of the Lord and it's a crying shame!

There's a church being built in Detroit that I saw today and from it's size and the seating structure of the frames, I thought Detroit was getting a new football stadium. That is...until my husband pointed out the "future home of..." sign. confused

It's a shame when marriage between two preachers devolves into a bitter divorce and smear campaigns. Makes you wonder who -- or what -- was at the center of the marriage. And, it also makes me wonder how to avoid having such a marriage...

Though I still ain't mad at her, I wouldn't be so sure of that. Somebody's got to be feeding her "sources" some of that "alleged" information, don't you think?

How ever it turns out, the fallout from the divorce and the criminal case is going to shed a whole lot of light on the superstar profit...er...prophet society and that's just fine by me. shrug

Yeah, and this isn't the first instance of what appear to be professional-looking videos on YouTube that cast aspersions on Bynum's integrity.

I don't care much for Bynum's antics (never have, really). But the first question I've had to ask myself is: Who gains from making her look like a phoney?

I'm with Thread though..who gains from it?

I'm no fan of Juanita's. I thought her big ole marriage on TBN was ridiculous but at the same time, the motives behind this, whether its true or not, should be questioned.

I think this Deena Jones character shouldn't be praised from what she's doing.

Believe me, I have MAJOR issues with the Church that has kept me away until recently so this isn't about protecting "false prophets". NONE of this seems like God's hands are in it, on either side.

Once again, I believe that Juanita is annointed. I just believe that the selfishness and greed of the Church took hold of her and of many. These folks are no different than Prince, MJ and the like....they are "rock stars".

Let God do his thing. I just can't gloat when I see priests and preachers fail because I do myself.

shrug
