Is God really in charge today? There was some talk on this forum about the atrocities in the world and some said that God was still resting on the 7th day and that was the reason. I saw this and thought it was an interesting rebuttal:

god walked away from this world long ago. "...I will go to the animal shelter and get you a kitty cat. I will let you fall in love...with that kitty cat. And then on some dark, cold night I will steal away into your home...and punch you in the face!"

So do you think it's futile to pray to Him? I think the die was cast long ago, what happens is going to happen, I don't think prayer in any way changes fate. I see it as Humans r in charge. Well..not so much in charge as we are here just living, playing the cards delt. And no, no one was out the arranging the deck, or even dealing for that matter...it was an metaphor. One bright day in the middle if the night,
2 dead boys got up to fight. Back 2 back they faced each other, drew their swords and shot each other A deaf Policeman head this noise, he came and shot the 2 dead boys. If you don't believe this lie

Didn't Christ refer to Satan as the "ruler of this world"?

Do U look at fate as karma? God wants to give us a positive world but we somehow, with duality, caused these 'bad' things to happen. There is mass karma and also individual karma. Prayer does reduce the karma load of the world and the individual...if you want to look at karma as the reduction of the negative load that is upon us. But, blind prayer of God, 'oh please help us/me, God', well, is this what prayer should be? Prayer can and should, more-or-less, be worship to God, demonstrating to God how much we care and love Him. i'm not saying that it isn't okay and acceptable to pray to God for help with issues and challenges at hand, i'm just saying try not to approach God when things are wrong. Prayer in the realm of worship is like putting money in the spiritual bank account. "Sacred is the prayer that asks for nothing." Yes, God is in charge but we, acting and believing that we are mere humans, is the issue. God lives inside of each one of us. if you tell me He doesn't, that's okay 2 as God doesn't need ur acknowledgement to take charge. ~dueno de nada~

So, what about the scriptures quoted above? Each of the passages addresses God keeping His covenant with His People. Which was broken time and time again over the years, because His People, like all of us, fell away (and continue to fall away). So -- according to some believers -- God took a different tack. He established a new covenant through Christ, so that those who believe in Him would have everlasting life. In the next life. And, -- again, according to some -- God isn't done yet. His Day is coming when He will set all right. I say all that to say, I don't really have a good answer, just a belief. LoveGod. that's why "vengence is mine sayeth the Lord." surrender all 2 God. ~dueno de nada~

Romans 8:28-30 Can Satan do anything that does not work to the good of those that love God and are called according to His purpose? He could if he accepted Jesus as his own personal savior. But I doubt his stubborn ass will. Ignore this post.

Deuteronomy 28:15-68 is interesting, but did Jesus help us out with this? This isn't Yahshua's doing. These are the blessings and cursings that Yahweh promise to give us based upon the decisions we make as individuals and/or as a nation. Also, there's this: Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. [Edited 2/19/07 21:43pm] Nowhere in the Bible does it say God has given up control of the Earth. It simply says that he has given men free will. Men have chosen to reject God's rule. Thus we see all of the problems on the earth. However, God has promised that he will step in and fix things. He has set a time limit and when the time is up, he will step back up to the plate, say OK guys you have ruled yourselves for (x) amount of years and lets face it ... YOU SUCK!!. He will then proceed to take a swing, hit Satan for a home run...jog around clean up all the bases till he accomplishes his purpose, and "game, set, match" to God. BTW sorry about all the sports metaphors...but it is late and I need to have a sports fix!!!

No, it does not mean that it means that Satan is the one who first turned humans away from God, humans go along with him and reject God's rulership. In this way Satan rules the world. Free will does not equal Satan, it is a gift from God and all perfect creation use their free will in harmony with God's purposes.
