What is Your Religion?

What is your religion? Do you take it seriously and follow its tenets? Do you have the same religion as your parents or did you choose another path?

hmmm

* Taoism

* Of course I take it seriously, but I question it all the time. But that's what you're supposed to do.

* My parents were on some kind of crazy cracked-out religious path when I was growing up. My dad came from a VERY strictly religious family, and he left their religion to find something just as strict but more "contemporary". After my parents divorced, my dad became agnostic and my mom became an athiest. I've been a Taoist for about 14 years, though I've just started going to a Unitarian church.

I LOVE IT!

I just came back from my second time, and it's just like going to the gym, only for the soul. It's just a big room of people being nice and a minister who gives really awesome sermons. I think what I like best about it is that the people who show up are so diverse, and the services are so unassuming about who you're "supposed" to be or what you're "supposed" to believe. It's just about being who you are and doing what you do. I'm into it. thumbs up!

I was raised Catholic.

I consider all religion to be a collection of fairy tales. I do believe there is some sort of higher being, but humans do not have the capacity to understand, visualize, explain, etc what this higher being is.

Religion is our attempt to fill in the blanks and explain where we came from and why we are here. The truth is, nobody knows the answer to these questions, but folks act like they do, and in fact they are so certain they are right that the disregard other equally valid religions, and try to remake society according to the tenets of their particular mythology, er, that is, religion.

Well, thanks for that. You're the only one who seems to have answered the question seriously. I guess it's not cool to have a religion. confused

religion is odd for me...

i was born into a catholic family..who aren't all that catholic..
at 12 i studied and read satanism(btw i found out that anton lavey is more of a magican than actual cult leader)
at 14 i read about wiccanism..of course i never praticed neither religions becuase i mean at that age i knew it would be to much of a cliche.
at 17 i heavely got into the occult, hinduism and buddhism.

currently..i worship morrissey...actually no..i guess..i just love to read about religions and not practice them..but if you want a label..i guess..buddhist/catholic/agnostic.

Well I consider myself to be a Universalist. I grew up as a Baptist in Indiana but later I realize that it wasn't for me. At least Universalist I can be what I want to be that fulfilled my spiritual needs.
I guess that I am Nature too. I love the nature and I believed the Divine is in all living things.

Jehovah's Witness... yeah, I take it seriously - read Bible about every day, and do my own investigations from secular sources, when possible...my parents are of the same religion, only my mother was raised Catholic, my father Assembly of God - neither were religious people before becoming JW.

I do think of myself as more spiritual than religious, however - and think of being JW as more of a lifestyle than a religious once-a-week get-together...
