The Ten Commandments vs. The Eleven Satanic Rules

Which do you think is the better way of living?

The Ten Commandments

1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain.
4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
5. Honour thy father and thy mother.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
10. Thou shalt not covet.

The Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth

1. Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
2. Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
3. When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there.
4. If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.
5. Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.
6. Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.
7. Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.
8. Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
9. Do not harm little children.
10. Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.
11. When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.

hmmm I think both sides make valid points. Although both of them also make pretty bizarre, faith-specific demands that are hardly universal. Satan's wording is a bit extreme at times, but he generally has the right idea. Still, as Prince says, "when them devil come, them devil gon'come dressed as light".

Props to Christianity for the rock-solid V-X. I also quite like IV - religious beliefs aside, it is a good idea to chill out on Sundays. cool

I agree and like both rules. Why the other is called be the "satanic" rules, they basically all are common sense (other than the destroy them part, that sounds rediculous).

The actual 10 Commandments are originally the 10 COMMITMENTS.

When u replace the word they have a better meaning although it's clear..Commandments are something made by man. God does not make commands and judgements and demands.

Commit to those things and life should be free from negativity.
Download all the shit hop that you can for your kids, neices, nephews, and their friends also. That will prevent them from going out and buying it and will prevent some shit hop sales. Every little bit helps - Andy

Most of these dont sound much like rules that Satan wants people to live by. In fact most agree with what God's word the bible teaches:

1. Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
(Proverbs 12:18) There exists the one speaking thoughtlessly as with the stabs of a sword, but the tongue of the wise ones is a healing.

2. Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
(Psalm 55:22) Throw your burden upon Jehovah himself, And he himself will sustain you. Never will he allow the righteous one to totter.
(Galatians 6:5) For each one will carry his own load.

3. When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there.
(1 Peter 2:17) Honor men of all sorts, have love for the whole association of brothers, be in fear of God, have honor for the king.

5. Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.
(1 Thessalonians 4:3-6) For this is what God wills, the sanctifying of you, that you abstain from fornication; that each one of YOU should know how to get possession of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in covetous sexual appetite such as also those nations have which do not know God; that no one go to the point of harming and encroach upon the rights of his brother in this matter, because Jehovah is one who exacts punishment for all these things, . . .

6. Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.
(Leviticus 19:11) “‘YOU people must not steal, and YOU must not deceive, . . .

8. Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
(Proverbs 27:15) A leaking roof that drives one away in the day of a steady rain and a contentious wife are comparable.

9. Do not harm little children.
(Psalm 127:3) . . . Look! Sons are an inheritance from Jehovah; The fruitage of the belly is a reward.
(Exodus 21:22-23) “And in case men should struggle with each other and they really hurt a pregnant woman and her children do come out but no fatal accident occurs, he is to have damages imposed upon him without fail according to what the owner of the woman may lay upon him; and he must give it through the justices. But if a fatal accident should occur, then you must give soul for soul. . .

10. Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.
(Proverbs 12:10) The righteous one is caring for the soul of his domestic animal, but the mercies of the wicked ones are cruel.

These dont agree with the bible:

4. If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.
NOPE...why not just politely ask them to leave?
(Matthew 7:12) 12 “All things, therefore, that YOU want men to do to YOU, YOU also must likewise do to them; . . .

7. Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.
(Leviticus 19:26) . . .“‘YOU must not look for omens, and YOU must not practice magic.

11. When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.
CAUTION - After following this rule and finding yourself in a jail cell with a big hairy thug, you'd better hope he lives by rule #5! And you'd better hope he doesnt find YOU annoying now that he has you in his lair.
Many Christmas' ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.

I'd say that the Satanic rules are pretty realistic, although I don't follow either.

Because they're more realistic. Most people live by a lot of Satanic rules and philosophies and don't even know it.

Buddhis Precepts:
(SOme of these precepts apply towards people of the "cloth" in buddhism and aren't possible for Lay followers, but it's not the letter but the spirit of the message Lay followers accept).

1. Abstain from killing other living beings

2. Abstain from taking that which is not given

3. Abstain from sexual misconduct (rape, selfish sexual acts, harmful sexual acts, etc.)

4. I shall not lie, talk with double tongue, bear false witness against others, talk of others short-comings and faults, making jokes, or talk about irrelevant subjects that have no benefit for my quest to become enlightenment)

5. I refrain from intoxicating drinks and drugs which impairs the function of my body and mind.

(I shall not consume drug, alcohol, and other addictive materials)

6. I undertake the precept to refrain from eating at the inappropriate time.
(I shall not indulge myself with food and neglect my mind). Food consumption can slow the body and dull the mind, imparing thoughts and judgement.

7. refrain from dancing, singing, music, going to see worldly acts - Worldly pleasures can cuase one to become more attached to the impermanent and sad existence that is mundane life.

8. I undertake the precept to refrain from adorn my body with earthly possession - Again, worldly pleasures....

9. I undertake the precept to refrain from lying on a high or luxurious sleeping place--Again worldly pleasures...
(I will not rest while I haven’t reached the enlightenment stage. I will not rest while other sentient beings are still suffering in three miserable realms. I will not enter nirvana and forshaken sentient beings)

10. I undertake the precept to refrain from accepting gold and silver (money)--It is impossible to live a monastic life when existing in the mundane life.
(I will refrain from accepting and possess any material and wealth since they belongs to sentient beings. I understand that if I do not conquer my greed, I shall not be able to escape the cycle of life and death. I will not dwell in heaven with my great merits while sentient beings are still suffering in other three miserable realms)
