Will this world survive without divine intervention? Just curious how many have faith that this world's governmental powers will be able to solve the problems that threaten humankind's survival on this planet? Or do you believe that humankind is doomed unless some higher power steps in and intervenes? Many Christmas' ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.

I don't think govermnets are meant to or can solve all our problems, or even most of them. Nor do I believe we are "doomed" at least in such an apocalyptic way.

No fear at all of a nuclear war in the future? Many Christmas' ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.

Mutts says, I only wonder what kind of world we would live in without some form of government. I am also interested in how far we have come and where we could be if the government had kept some of its old rules and had been too stubborn to change them (Amendments to the Constitution). I remember the 3/5's rule that was part of the way that blacks were percieved in the 18th Century all the way to segregation in the 60's as well as many other injustices that have been abolished due to the people speaking out and the government passing legislation to improve the quality of life for human beings. Now, the government has done it's share of atrocities as well. But at least we are free to speak about the problems we have and what improvements can be made. So to answer your question, I DO think that a combination of the government and the people on this planet have the power to ensure humankind survival on this planet. But that is just ole me Mutts

I think in the grand, cosmic scheme of things, we're "doomed" either way, honestly. I simply don't believe that we'll exist -- in this form, and on this earth -- forever. Nothing tragic, just matter of fact. ________________

No fear at all of a nuclear war in the future? Actually yes. I figure there will be some sort of nuclear event in our lifetime. But it won't destroy hummankind. "Nature only knows transformation" -- or something like that.

I certainly wont be surprised if terrorists eventually detonate a nuclear bomb here in the U.S. I think its just a matter of time before they get their hands on a nuclear bomb or the material to make one. That movie Sum of All Fears was pretty frightening. Many Christmas' ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. You don't feel that there is any possibility at all that there is really gonna be an answer to the prayer... "Let thy KINGDOM come, thy will be done...on earth as it is in heaven"? Jesus taught that prayer. You think he was just pacifying us? I really do believe that God's Kingdom in the hands of Christ will come with great power. According to Daniel chapter 2:44, it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms...and it itself will stand to time indefinite. This heavenly government is prophesied to unite mankind in a loving brotherhood with no nationalistic boundaries. It will solve all the problems man is now tackling...but much more. It will solve the problems that no human government could ever solve. According to Revelation, it will provide solutions to all problems including sorrow, sickness, and death. Lammastide, have you concluded absolutely that this can not and will not happen? Melody So...how's everybody doing?

i agree. this planet has a history of species coming and going. the universe has a pattern of planets and stars and even galaxies being born and ultimately 'dying'. i think nothing lasts forever. whether 'divine intervention' in the form of what some religions consider to be 'god' will intervene to save humankind from itself i don't know. moreover, i'm not sure that would be a good thing. They will continue to setup American Goverments under the guise of liberation and safty from WMD. IRAQ, then IRAN, Sudan and N Korea. They will succeed to an extent. But with their forces divided and weakened, a third world war will break out. They're will be nuclear casualties, but it will not wipe out mankind. The world will see a tribulation like it has never seen before. "Unless those days are cut short no flesh would be saved, but on account of the chosen ones, those days will be cut short." Matt... Then these scritures will be fulfilled..... Psalms 37:11 Micah 4:1-4 Revelation 21:1-4 Please read these, your mind and heart will be opened~ So...how's everybody doing?
