Anita Baker's new CD 'My Everything' due Sep.7

Ten years after she last enraptured fans with her sumptious ballads,Anita Baker returns with a new album 'My Everything' on Sep.7."It's in the vein of what she's done in the past," says Bruce Lundvall, president of Blue Note Records."There is no way you can put that voice in a different context. It is always Anita Baker".

Baker did most of the writing for the eight-song album, including a co-written duet with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds,"Like You Used To Do".It is the sixth studio album for Baker, whose catalog---including such hits as "Sweet Love","Giving You The Best That I've Got",and "Body and Soul"---is still heavily played on jazz and adult R&B radio stations.

Lundvall says that when Baker decided to end her hiatus, she contacted him, saying that she wanted to be on the same label wil Cassandra Wilson,Dianne Reeves,Rachelle Farrell, and "that young girl" (Norah Jones). The first single from Baker's CD can be heard starting July 12.

Not sure who the producer(s) are,but it's a safe bet that Babyface produced the track that he apears on "Like You Used To Do",which I think will be the first single.

Well it's about friggin' time. I remember when she released one of the best R&B albums of the 80's, Rapture. Hopefully this new one will be just as good as that.

It's about time. I'm excited to hear what Ms Baker has up her sleeve.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I love Anita Baker! Glad to hear that she's back. However, she's been away for 10 years and she's only releasing eight songs on that CD?!?!?!? Oh, no she didn't!

I think 2Freakymeans the way the live album is put together. It's disjointed and seems thrown together. They didn't even try to make it flow together. The performances are good, but sequencing and over all production is horrible.
