The Beatles

I see alot of performers and bands who brag about how many records the sell, how many #1's they have, like Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson.

The Beatles hit the pop stream in 1964 and stayed together till 1969. Look at the impact they made on music. All the great music they gave in a sort 5 years.

They never reunited, no reunion tours, it's like they came, saw and conquered. Why can't some artists take they same cue.

What groups do you think have stayed at the "party" for far too long"???

Tom Petty & the heartbreakers
Rush
Earth Wind and fire

Paul McCartney has always said he would of liked a reunion at some stage until John died, after that it wouldn't of been the same.

It was one of those things u just have to say, it was meant to be.. or in pauls case.. "let it be".. It really was amazing music, amazing people and a huge amount of talent flowing through each of these people.. who played wonderful together.. and in my opinion.. like no other group...

The best band to ever surface. Period.

***The Rolling Stones---don't get me wrong,I'm a fan of these guys. But I think they should do one more "farewell tour" and call it a day.Nothing lasts forever, you know.Tina Turner was wise to retire when she did.

Regarding Earth Wind and Fire---leader Maurice White said in an interview last year that they would probably stay together only five more years,do a couple more albums, then call it quits.Various group members are anxious to start producing other artists. They're my favorite band, but I have to agree,it might be time for them to disband.Without Maurice as a full-time member, and with all these new guys in the band, the magic is just not there anymore. But they have a legacy they can be proud of.

I know what you mean, but however: as long as they release albums like "The Promise" NO WAY should they call it quits! and a concert even without Maurice on stage is still an experience I want to enjoy many many many times ahead into the future nod
Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

If you're still making great music then there's no need to stop.

Oh yeah, The Beatles = worship

To be honest,I really don't enjoy seeing them in concert anymore.I resent the fact that these newcomers (David B. Whitworth...Robert Brookins, etc) are onstage, singing Maurice's parts. And it's no fun seeing Philip Bailey wearing out his vocal cords by singing his AND many of Maurice's parts too.Not only do I miss Maurice, but I also miss Larry Dunn,Fred White and the other guys who were in the band during their 70s heyday.Maurice has hinted that he will bring these guys back, for one final reunion, and that's exactly what I wanna see.

I agree with you completely CB. What would we do without our legends of rock, like the Stones, Beatles, Aerosmith etc? I shudder to think of the shit music that would take it's place. I just bought the lates Aerosmith "Honkin on Bobo" and that cd kicks ass! I hope these guys and many more like them continue to make music for a long time to come.
