who does everyone listen to besides prince?

Just curious to see what artists everyone listens to besides prince, especially if they are not too well known.

Personally, I have recently heard a Canadian artist named Remy Shand. You may have heard his song "Take A Message". If not, check it out at the link below.

http://remyshand.ca/multi.html

you will need realplayer to listen.

Like I said just curious as to what everyone is listening to besides prince, so please share.

D'Angelo, James Brown, Smashing Pumpkins, Coleman Hawkins, Angie Stone, Erykah Badu, Talking Heads, John Mayer, Dave Matthews (isn't he the same as Mayer? wink), Black Eyed Peas, Chocolate Genius (are you down with Godmusic?), Ben Webster, Foo FIghters, Tears for Fears, Simply Red (yes, America, they're still here...), Peter Gabriel, Jill Scott, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder....my fingers are starting to hurt....Beastie Boys, The Roots, Tom Petty (with or without the Heartbreakers), Everclear, The Twilight Singers, Fiona Apple, Sinatra, and TTD. That's all I can think of right now.

Let's see here... I listen 2 George Clinton, and early Parliament/ Funkadelic stuff, Al Green and Marvin Gaye both kick ass. I listen also 2 alot of trance and house music. BT, Danny Tenaglia, and D:Fuse are some of my favorite DJs. Jurassic 5, The Roots, and Common are some excellent straight up hip hop artists, much better than all this commercialized bling-bling crap that all the 15 years olds seem 2 be filling their heads with. James Brown, of course. Miles Davis and John Coltrane are both heart-stoppingly good. That's all I can come up with for the moment.

PM Dawn
Tony Mortimer (East 17)

both are huge prince fans but neither are imitators.. just great in their own thing... Tony is great for his excellent lyrics and spot on tunes, PM Dawn have highly cerebral lyrics and excellent use of sampling (when they use samples)...

the song steam by East 17 was prince inspired..but only in theme, not execution, and PM Dawn did a cool new take on 1999 , a sort of soft ballad , nice
