YES I like KRAFTWERK. Very VERY influential German group....

* Numbers- This is one of their most influential songs EVER. This song is so infectious. Many parties have been launched with this song. BELIEVE ME I SHOULD KNOW!!!!!

* Trans Europe Express- This is the song that Africa Bambaataa sampled for his innovative forward-thinking PLANET ROCK jam in 1982. Great stuff.

*Tour De France- Another Kraftwerk masterwork. This is the song with the heavy breathing in it. Also this song was featured in the 1984 movie BREAKIN...(the scene when TURBO was dancing/poplocking with a broom)

You don't have to be embassrassed....KRAFTWERK are very influential!!!!!

TRON

I actually just started getting really hardcore into them. I love all that early techno/synthpop stuff. My favorite album right now by them is "The Man Machine". You can hear the next 5 years of music right there. All the songs are tight too- especially the title track, Metropolis and The Model. Anyone that's an original and an innovator is worth checking out.

they are a great example of how different forms of music are connected...they are thought of as 80's Euro-eltronic..however fan of Hip Hop culture enjoy their work in samples and back in the day--they were one of the groups to break dance to! Yes inded, KraftWK is that bomb--Tour De France is the Jam!!! I also think it's neat how in Planet Rock which is such an old song, has that part that say..."now let's HOUSE...go!" Hip Hip, House, 80's Euro...all connected...there is a connection just like cultures if you are willing to dig deep enought and be open minded. Thanks for your post lol

Forgot to add: Planet Rock is SUCH a house song, even though, many fans of hip hop don't see that, that Paul Oakfenfold made a remix to it which can be found on
Ministry of Sounds 2002 Annual. lol

I too love Kraftwerk. Tour de France was one of the first 30 records I used to form my first crate as a 12yr old wanna be DJ. Everytime I hear a Kraftwek song it brings back memories. biggrin
