Today's "Feel Good" Song of the Day Is..... "Caravan of Love" by the Isley Brothers. Does anybody remember and dig this song as much as I do? The reason why I love this song is because it sings about love and unity (something this world really needs right now). Here are the lyrics to refresh your memory, in case you forgot.
Caravan Of Love by The Isley Brothers Ooh...ooh...ooh.. Ooh...ooh...ooh.. Are you ready for the time of your life It's time to stand up and fight (It's alright) It's alright (It's alright, it's alright) Hand in hand we'll take a caravan To the motherland One by one we're gonna stand with the pride One that can't be denied (Stand up, stand up, stand up, stand up) From the highest mountain, and valley low We'll join together, with hearts of gold Now the children of the world can see There's a better way for us to be The place where mankind was born Is so neglected and torn... torn apart Every woman, every man Join the caravan of love (Stand up, stand up, stand up) Everybody take a stand Join the caravan of love I'm your brother I'm your brother, don't you know I'm your brother I'm your brother, don't you know We'll be living in a world of peace In a day when everyone is free We'll bring the young and the old Won't you let your love flow from your heart Every woman, every man Join the caravan of love (Stand up, stand up, stand up) Everybody take a stand Join the caravan of love I'm your brother I'm your brother, don't you know I'm your brother I'm your brother, don't you know Now the children of the world can see There's a better for us to be The place where mankind was born Is so neglected and torn... torn apart Every woman, every man Join the caravan of love (Stand up, stand up, stand up) Everybody take a stand Join the caravan of love Are you ready for the time of your life (Are you ready, are you ready) Are you ready for the time of your life (Are you ready, are you ready) Come go with me (Are you ready, are you ready) Come go with me (Are you ready, are you ready) Every woman, every man Join the caravan of love (Are you ready, are you ready) Everybody take a stand Join the caravan of love (Are you ready, are you ready) Every woman, every man Join the caravan of love (Are you ready, are you ready) Everybody take a stand Join the caravan of love (Are you ready, are you ready) [This message was edited Tue Jun 1 17:56:12 2004 by psychodelicide] RIP, mom. that's one of those songs that you have to be "in the mood" to listen to. It gets stuck in your head. "Pedro offers you his protection."

I looooove that tune, great pick!
there was also a (rather boring) accapella cover version by the Housmartins, that became a BIG hit in Europe, mid 80ees I think. I guess most people over here won't even know the original recording... Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

Does anybody else here think that the melody for Gregory Abbot's " Shake You Down" was a carbon copy of " Caravan Of Love"? " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

yup. But I still would choose that 12 kids-havin' man over the old skin men. "Pedro offers you his protection."

Gregory Abbott over Isley? hmmm.. depends for what u need'em musicwise he was not exactly an innovator... at least someone should have had the guts to steal his DX7 standard modules before letting him somewhere even near a recording studio... even back in '86 this was well... saying this his output still sounds better than most standard crap released today Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green.
