Madonna - NO CURSING ON MY TOUR! June 3, 2004 -- THE times they have a changed! Madonna (above), once known for her lewd behavior as well as her lewd language, has imposed a "cursing fine" on everyone in her tour, including dancers and roadies. "Every time someone curses, they have to pay a fine," said an insider. Liz Rosenberg, Madonna's rep, said: "That is correct — and by the way, she has paid plenty [herself]. I think it is $5 a curse word." Madonna was caught several weeks ago shrieking at her dancers: "Get it right or get the [bleep] out!" — just before she donated to the cursing can. Let the rain come down...17 days....

UNKIND WORDS FOR MATERIAL MOM ---Not everyone is impressed that Madonna has reinvented herself, reports MSNBC.com.In a startling essay for a British website called Something Jewish,Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, the former friend and adviser to Michael Jackson, blasts Philip Berg, the head of the Kabbalah Centre, for letting the Material Girl be the religion's highest-profile representative."Sorry to be so crass," Boteach writes,"but Madonna is a slut.Yes,she may sing, and she may dance. But she is famous for being a slut. And no religion should dare have a slut as it's principal representative."
Madonna's rep reacted strongly."His vile attacks on her character and as an artist are staggering for someone who professes to be a religious person",said Liz Rosenberg. (Associated Press) I suppose Mr. Boteach would respect Madonna more if she were to get accused of molesting a child.

So not only do people have to answer to God, but Madonna too. Isn't that like double taxation? I hope she puts the money to good use, like a good psychiatrist...

What, the whole "at least Madonna does transformations, while Janet doesn't even try" argument? That's so been done before. That sort of thing is why I got rid of my damn Madonna avatar. I haven't been bothered since. [This message was edited Sun Jun 6 15:36:48 2004 by VoicesCarry]

madonna is great at transformations...that's her "thing" and that's why the show is titled the re-invention tour. not all people in the music industry feel the need to re-invent who they are. personally, as an outsider, it always came across to me that madonna just doesn't know who she is. nothing wrong with that since many people spend a long time searching themselves out. prince doesn't really change images. janet doesn't really change images. many, many people don't to be honest. tori's been tori for years. natalie merchant is the same natalie merchant (publicly speaking, of course) from 10k maniacs. i think the madonna we see now may actually be the real madonna because she seems kind of tired of being a chameleon. maybe she's just too old to care what people see her as or how they see her.

I'm pretty damn sure Madonna knows who she is, lol. It's just a dress-up act. I've always enjoyed it. And Prince doesn't change images?

And Prince doesn't change images? prince has always been prince. i'm not talking about what folks wear. madonna was a sex pot for a while. she was marilyn monroe for a while. she was an ny "boy toy" for a while. she was soft and motherly for a while (evita era). that's what i'm talking about. yeah, prince may have worn g strings and trenchcoats or alphabet suits but he always had the same personality and style.

That song's about losing oneself in love, and to God (on her AL promo tour she said the song was "about my old relationships with men....and then Jesus crept in"). If I had to bet it sounds like another song about Sean. [This message was edited Sun Jun 6 18:26:28 2004 by VoicesCarry]

Yeah, only now he's gone JW on us. Then we had the whole "artist-formerly-known-as/SLAVE" era. Face it - he's done a lot of different things, not just dress up. And even Madonna's motherliness was nothing more than a dress-up act, a calculated publicity manouver to align herself with a new audience and shed her sex-tainted Erotica image.
