Thats what it says on the cover of the TV GUIDE DECEMBER 2000: "We team up with MTV to pick the 100 greatest music videos ever and its official Michael Jackson Rules" Got the point? Good Lets Dance...Hee Hee...Michael is the King Of Pop, madonna is not the queen... However I like some of her songs and I like her performances...If you watch her concerts you will see that she remakes her videos on stage too...A style invented by Mike and first used for Bad Tour

Lets face it, lets not beat about the bush. MTV have to say hes the king of the pop video because he created the pop video. He was the first black artist to get play on MTV, because he did something different, he made good pop videos. Thats does not mean everything he has done since then has been good. in fact it doesnt mean even 90% of the stuff hes done since has been good.
Im not gonna go any further into why its not good, i guess it just my own adult opinon, but Im someone who believes that pop videos have the potential to be great things. Real works of art. Its not about how much money you throw at the video (who knew by watching it Scream cost six million - it certainly didnt look that way). Its about making a video that makes you think about the content of the song. As MJs songs are kinda lacking in this area, i realise its a probem for him. I personally think that Bjork makes stunning music videos, a million times better than wacko's, but shes never gonne be named in TV guide as a great music video artist is she. Im sure shes not gonna lose any sleep over it. Nicely said and I agree on Bjork. She's not one of my favourite artists but her videos are amazing. Every thread in this damn forum gets turned into an MJ one! Pisses me off. And don't put Madonna down. She may be a religious loony nowadays but she's fabulous. So ner! | |
