"Never explain love"-Al Jarreau, damn I love that song, chorus so catchy too! Don't u think this track sounds very Princey, but without the falsetto proberly! Chec kout the orchestra!

"Fight the power" by Public Enemy is still one of their best jams!

Wish I could find some of his other soundtracks, but in the UK I'm lucky just to own his movies! He derserves to be big over here!

"Tu y yo" by Rubin Blades is beutiful as well as "Never explain love"!

"My fantasy" by GUY is OK, but I prefer the very simular sounding track (released after this) called "I wanna get with you"! "My fantasy" sounds like a dry run for "I wanna..."

Thanx 4 reminding me about one of his soundtracks!

The 'Summer Of Sam' soundtrack is superb.A nice mix of late 70s disco and funk, but also a few memorable pop gems ("Baba O Reilly" by The Who..."Dancing Queen" by Abba).A few tracks are hard to find (Machine's "There But For The Grace Of God"),and The Emotion's "Best Of My Love" sounds like a rare demo version!! It's definitley not the regular single version that we know so well.

I always thought this song was very Prince-ish. This has to be my favorite Al Jarreau song. And that orchestra breakdown...drool

That sound is writer/Keyboardist Raymond Jones, A big contributer on Spike Lee's Soundtracks---
Originally a keyboardist with Chic from '77-81', and now a solo artist, his writing and Production credits include songs like "Don't Wanna Be Alone Tonight", From School Daze
"Never Explain Love"and "Prove To Me" from Do The Right Thing, "People In Search Of A Life" from Clockers and " Harlem Blues" from Mo' Better Blues....

The movies are GREAT! clapping

My favorite being, of course, The Jungle Fever and Girl 6 soundtracks.

"Feeding Off The Love Of The Land" is one of my fav. songs by Stevie. I wonder why he decided to release it 17 years later? confuse

I wanna know why he never released it on one of his own albums( It didn't even make the soundtrack!!). In one biography(Stevie Wonder, by Constanze Elzner), background singer Jim Gilstrap mentioned to the author that as good as the released stuff was , they worked on tons of stuff that they thought was incredible , only to have it shelved. Jim said they(the musicians and singers) would beg Stevie to release some of that stuff, but most of it remains in the Black Bull vault...

You know there used to be a website that listed all of Stevie's known unreleased material. It's down now, but just the titles alone sounded really good. thumbs up! It was well over 200 songs from his entire career!

I knew he came from a 70s band, didn't know it was Chic. And it's usually all of the tracks that he wrote and produced that I fall in love with.

Definitely one of my favorites too. Do you know if the strings were added by Bill Lee for the movie or were they included on the original version. The only Stevie songs I heard with original string sections from that era were on the Syreeta album.

I always wondered that too. when I finally found an mp3 of the original, there were no strings, Just Stevie at the piano.

Yeah, I believe Bill added those because the version I have is just Stevie singing over him playing the piano.

Probably just Stevie being Stevie. sigh It was available as the b-side from the 12" single to "Gotta Have You."

These are the ones that most come to mind for me. The scores are beautiful.

I'd also add: She Spoke 2 Me -- Prince (Girl 6)
