I will be slightly disappointed if Fantasia wins tonight. Wait, let me explain.... Diana needs the American Idol machine to have any chance at success (not putting her down). Fantasia will be better off on her own. Besides, after all of Fantasia's praise last night, the Diana groupies I'm sure blew up the phone lines last night.
The real winner to me is still Jennifer Hudson

Don't care. I hate that show and everything it stands for. Whoever wins will become another maufactured pop act, regardless of their talent. That's what's happened to all the winners so far. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

The Fox network is the real winner, convincing the world yet again, that this matters in a really significant way. I understand that America needs its own brand of escapism, believe me I do. But, after years of steadily sacrificing our freedoms and right to privacy, we're told to expect to live throughout this summer in the shadow of another domestic terrorism plot. I don't mean to jack the thread, but I don't give two pieces of lint about who "wins" tonight. Fox was declared the victor, months ago.

and i just dont understand people bitching about this show..
is it any worse then the uptenth star that was discovered on Showtime At The Apollo? Or getting their break via some open mic night at a bar? if you look at the last three winners of this show none of them conformed to the image of what makes an idol...Kelly is an okay normal sized girl..Ruben is a hefty r&b singer and Fanstasia....Well, damn...Fantasia would never have gotten the media attention without this show... who knows whats going to happen to any of these people...they might pump out crap music for years....or they might turn into great artist.....in the end we will still have a chance to turn off (or turn up) our stereos... shit, even prince pumped a couple mainstream crap albums in an attempt to get attention... Fantasia has the talent 2 be different though. The others.. they just sound average... Straight Jacket Funk Affair

I gotta say that Fantasia is probably the first one outta this entire series to have real talent and will probably go where no other 'Idol' has gone before. I've been a AI watcher for 3 years now and no one has moved me at all the way this girl did. Though it is instant celebrity....I feel this girl needs to be celebrated!
Go FANTASIA! Every minute of last night is on my face today....

slightly off topic, my boy Rod did an interview with Tamyra where he compared one of her songs to Prince? http://www.mercurynews.co...465.htm?1c
R: Your song ``Star'' does evoke a bit of Prince. T: Just a little bit. I adore Prince. He is so funky! R: Have you met him? T: I did, on my 18th birthday. I asked him for his picture and autograph. He said, ``We'll meet again.'' And we did! But every time I meet him, I feel like a dummy. I hope next time I meet him I have a civilized conversation. "Pedro offers you his protection."

Well at least they gave it to someone who can clearly sing. Diana sounded like shit the other night. She was flatter than my mama's isotoner slippers and not to mention the way Atlanta was hyping her up.

My homegirl called me this morning on the way to work and told me Ryan Cameron was talking about that. I know on Good Day Atlanta, some little girl was like "I'm disappointed that Diana didn't win because she was the better singer."

it's interesting b/c the media in ATL tried their best to hype up Diana, but in the end, the people of ATL spoke. In fact, I didn't go to the dome b/c i thought it was gonna be full of Diana-supporters and i didn't wanna be the only Fantasia fan around. But it turns out that Diana didn't have the support the media tried to spin for her. Plus, if you think back to last night's show. When they showed audience pics of Fantasia's home stadium, they showed the whole audience. When they showed the audience pics of Diana's home staduim (the dome), they only showed small clunps of people rooting for Diana. That's b/c Fantasia truly had ATL's support. The media didn't want you to know that. They were trying to pit ATL vs. Carolina and that wasn't the truth, at all. As far as the fighting goes, I heard that it was simple/triflin' stuff like one person trying to put their poster in front of someone else's poster and then the other person got mad b/c they thought the person touched/shoved them, etc . "Pedro offers you his protection."
