Does any1 know if they're gettin' back together and recording a new cd? They need to cuz, I've worn out the few cds that they have.

I wish they would already.

I think I heard somewhere that they were working on a new one.

all i know is that the woman has her own solo record out. that was a while ago, though, so maybe she has been back to portishead for long enough to record a new record.

beth gibbons released a solo album a couple of years back called out of season which is awesome. i had read somewhere at that time that there was some portishead material in the works but i haven't heard anything recently. i have worn out the few discs i have of them too. beth gibbons did have an awesome solo album. hey, i would gladly welcome more of her work as well.

I know that Andy Smith has been doing the rounds on the 'trip-hip / hip-hop' DJ circuit in the U.K. Some of his mix tapes are really well crafted. Great fusion of old skool rock, jazz and modern 'east-coast' hip-hop beats.

.

Geoff Barrow (Portishead creator, producer & DJ extrodinaire) also produced the album by Mckay that came out last year.

the beats are very Portishead, just not as dark.

if you are in the neighborhood, come to the Movement Fest in downtown Detroit this weekend and check her out for free. she will be performing along with 70+ other electronic artists May 29th-31st in Hart Plaza.
