1988 Bobby Brown vs 2004 Usher

1988 was a major year for Bobby Brown, he finaly came from under the shadows of New Edition. He had a great New Jack Swing albym with Don't Be Cruel with the hits "Don't be Cruel;", "My Perogative", Every Little Step", "Roni", and Roc'witcha. This year, Usher has had the biggest album so far Confessions with hits "yeah", "Burn", "Confessions Pt. 2", and will probally have at the most 3 more hit singles from the album. Who was the biggest artist out of tthe two, who had the better album.
PRINCE: Always and Forever
MICHAEL JACKSON: Always and Forever

I don't like either of them, although Bobby was good in New Edition.

I don't care much, but I have come yto HATE Usher. He is ridiculous and ridiculously unoriginal. He doesn't even seem to pay proper respect to those who he steals everything from. Bobby was the man back in his day.I have to admit. He sorta' broke ground by merging pop/r&b/hip hop aesthetics and lingo to a mass audience. He sucks, though because he was the product of his producers. So,I say I choose BB's producers over ANYTHING surrounding Usher.

Good comparison...

Bobby Brown, by far. I mean, 1988 was so good for him,
he still thinks he has it! evillol
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

On overall vocal ability, Usher has the upper hand. omfg hmm

In terms of street cred,(?) Bobby's got that locked down like a week in jail-pun seriously intended

nana flipped off evillol

Does this mean Usher will be burnt out with three babies' mama's and a Crazy wife three years from now? demon thumbs up!

they are both kinda arrogant. Usher loves Bobby, see Usher live..version of "Roni" (but did have a recent fight with him).

I'd say Bobby.

More broad...i guess. Maybe cuz i loved his performance of "Is This The End" and his other stuff "Girl next Door" "Ill Be Good 2 U" "Good Enough" "On Our Own" "I Really Love U Girl" them are sum JAMZ!

Bobby hands down 4 my muscial tastes personally!

More important year? Don't know yet, but when "Dont be cruel" first dropped, it made WAY MORE splash then Ushers latest! I really don't know why people r buying Usher's new album? It ain't as new as Bobbies album was! Wasn't as hip or innovative either! In concert, Bobby is very good o stage despite usher being a better dancer! Solo acts are rather few and far between these days which is why it seems that MOSTLY GIRLS like Usher!

Bobby and new editions "Heartbreak" album came out the same bloody year! 1988 is more New edition to 04's Usher!

Usher vs Tevin campbell- well I always preferred Tevin (his vocals were brillient) but from mid-90's Usher got the upper hand really and Tevin just lost out completely over THAT incident! Shame really, I miss Tevin!

Ursha is nothing more than an updated version of Bobby Brown...minus the crack...and the cocaine...and the alcohol...and the bi-polarism...and Whitney Houston...and the kids...unpaid child support...drug charges...assult and battery charges...drunk driving charges...Dateline NBC specials...did I forget anything else? confuse

what's up with this "stealing" bullshit. and i believe usher shows nothing but love for michael jackson; mike being one of his major influences.

in here every new artist gets labelled a thief once they seem to be heavily influenced by an artist or band you people admire. everytime a new artist gets some shine and says he sees (for instance) prince as a great influence, half of the orgers jump up to accuse him of "stealing" or "being unoriginal" or "being a wannabe." i don't get that. especially when all they do is show nothing but love for their influences.

Hey, Tevin's still cool right? I didn't care that he was gay! In fact, I know this sounds fake, but I thought he might of been gay before the 'scandal'! He had a very passionate voice that was very soulful too!

Not too long ago he reported in Sister 2 Sister magazine that he's a "try sexual" and that he'll screw anything. eek

I think he's trying to make a comeback, but that whole picking up a male prostitue scandal may still be lingering over what was left of his career.

I'll take the Bobby Brown of 1988 to the Usher of 2004. Bobby brought something that was new and original for me to the table and it was great. With Usher, I feel like I'm watching an inferior copy of Michael Jackson from 1983. He has a good voice but I felt like Bobby had that all around stage presence that Usher is close to but not at yet.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

i think the similarities between bobby and usher are obvious both black can sing ans can dance the difference is usher has seemed to handle his fame better and hasnt as of yet gone off the rails and bobbys 88 album was great if it was released today it would probably be as big if not bigger then when it was first released
by the way i never knew aything about this tevin campbell incident i always thought he had one of the best voices ive ever heard when he was younger quincy said something like this kid is going to be as big as michael jackson remeber his debut song tomorrow from quincys back on the block album damn i never knew he was a ass bandit though
