Redbone

I wonder if I'll get even one response for this posting.

Redbone is (was?) a native American/Indian group that had a little success with a mix of rock, funk and even Indian inspired music. I just bought their "Essentail" collection and while I've heard that there are some tracks that are missing that they are well know for, I don't care. I had to get this CD just for the soulful rock of "Come and Get Your Love" (their only big hit). The other songs on the album are really good to like "Witch Queen Of New Orleans" and "One Monkey" (which mentions both Richmond and Detriot).

Any other fans of this classic rock group?

I really liked "Witch Queen" and " Come and get your Love" , but I never got to hear their other songs...

Redbone were so soulful and funky. I own their self-titled debut on vinyl. It's a double album by the way. The original drummer Pete Depoe is my friends' uncle. He's from Neah Bay,Wa. Also after listening to the singer, I hear alot of Chris Cornell(Soundgarden, Audioslave). Speaking of Native American artists, Micki Free(Shalamar) has won several awards for his albums. www.mickifree.com
