GLITTER...Mariahs Best work?

I know that might sound crazy, but being into Mariah since the start, Glitter is her best Work in terms of a full album. Mariah has not yet done THAT album where U go WOW, Even Glitter has its Flawed tracks but its the most Un-flawed CD of hers. Mariah needs to get to that point where she Forgets about whats going to get played on the radio, because honestly no one is giving her any kind of play no matter how many rappers she duets with. Mariah needs to lose the production that she has going on with her last few cd's, even CHARMBRACELET was viewed as a return to form, it sounded to me like everything else being produced nowadays. She seems to be stuck in this lame RB production the last 8-9 years, thats why GLITTER sounded fresh, because the production had to sound different, and she had a live band on the tracks, and the only good moments on Charmbracelet were the ones were a LIVE band was used, such as the track SUBTLE INVITATION. Mariah is currently recorded her new cd, set for release late this year, hopefully she is starting to release these points too.

Glitter is my favorite Mariah CD. Coming close it is "Rainbow" which is very very nice. Some people may say Butterfly also.

Otherwise, Glitter is my favorite because I'm a 80's funk junkie. When I heard her do I Didnt Mean 2 Turn U On All My Life, and Want U..it was awesome. The ballads on here are THE BEST, they almost sound personal, and Lead The Way really show her rage is still there ... more than just the whispering...same can be said for Never 2 Far.

Other than that Rainbow is a very enjoyable listen. Just about every song on it is good and it has a concept to it. She had the most videos for that album and promotion.

I couldn't agree more, she sounds great when she is singing a hard up-tempo song rather than these slushy ballads...ALL THE TIME!! All my life should have been released. I have a lot of resepect for Mariah and think she has a fab voice, but she really lets herself down with doing 'backing singer' type stuff. Its good when she just lets go - her remixes always sound better than the album versions as she is going for it

I agree completely. This CD is crap. Butterfly is her all-round best album.

I think Daydream and Butterfly were her only "Peaks" of a musical reinvention.

The reason why folks think its crap is becoz they associate it with the flopped movie and the whole breakdown saga which is hypocrite and unfair. Give it a spin, its really a cool album.

However, I get SOOOO OUTRAGED when I think of the Original double-CD set album mad

Do you that Mariah invited BIG 80s produceres 2 produce 4 her? The session include those folks:

Prince(as ya'll know which didn't see the light 2 this damn day)
Rick James(Another song which is a duet)
Kashif(3 tracks, one is a Melba Moore cover which was originaly a Kashif song too)
David "HAWK" Wolinski(Rufus's 2nd keyboardist who'se responsible 4 hits like Chaka's "Ain't Nobody" and Stephanie Mills' "The Medicine Song")
Rod Temperton(By himself producing/arranging without Quincy)
Herbie Hencock(playing synthsizer and doing the rythem arrangments)
Angela Winbush
George Duke
Maurice White

How about that list 4 a damn session? disbelief

Then again, its good that she didn't include them becoz it would be unfair to them 2 be ignored/overlooked by people becoz of this album's failure.

'Glitter' is a very cool CD with that 80's sound 2 it. I would say 'Daydream', 'Buttefly', 'Rainbow', 'Charmbracelet' and 'Glitter' r Mariah's best albums.

Actually, I've heard it many times and I still think it's crap. But that's just me.

I totally agree.Mariah is an amazing vocalist, but lately, her music just doesn't do it for me.I miss the days when she used to effortlessly come up with songs like "Can't Let Go" and "Always Be My Baby".

I thought "Can't Let Go" was derivative and sounded like "Make It Last Forever" by Keith Sweat.

What about the song "Twister" from Glitter?
