The Compromise Theory:
Based on my analysis, I believe the government faked the plane crash and demolished the WTC North Tower with explosives.
The South Tower, in a simultaneous but unrelated plot was brought down by actual terrorists.

Yeah... But Prince was maybe shocking, but he also has musical talent.... Prince can sing... play guitar etc.... MM is just shocking.....and that's it.... It is not only my opinion, it's a fact... He may be writing some great lyrics... but that's not enough for someone who wants to be a real musician....
So comparing Prince and MM doesn't make any sense.....

It's not fact. Manson can sing and play a few instruments. Just because he doesn't have an R&B voice, doesn't mean he can't sing. He can do stuff with his voice that Prince can't do. It's HIS thing.

He may be writing some great lyrics... but that's not enough for someone who wants to be a real musician....

Sure it does. Back in Prince's early days he was seen as just a shock star and nothing more. The fans knew different of course, as they do now with Manson. If you don't like him, fine. But he does have talent. And that's a fact.

Umm, I think you need to look up the definition of "fact" and "opinion". Saying Manson has no talent is an opinion, not a fact. He writes lyrics AND music, and actually plays a couple of instruments. Do I think his talent is on par with Prince? No, and no one has said that. The point is, you are judging the man's entire output on his stage persona, and people are pointing out to you that that is similar to the way MANY folks reacted to Prince when he first hit the scene. Much of Prince's true brilliance has been ignored by those in the media and general public, because his antics and eccentric behaviour often eclipse it. You are doing the same thing with Manson. You claim that all he has is the shock thing, when this is just not true. You may not care for him, and that's fine, but until you've actually taken the time to look past his image, then you are speaking from ignorance on the subject.

Actually when Prince was first came to the public,he was marketed as a person who could play all the instruments a la Stevie Wonder. The fact that he had the "outargeous" fashion sense was secondary .So,that was the foundation right there--which can't be compared to MM who only got noticed based on his videos and image.

Your really that arrogant to believe that your opinion is so grand,if you can't see, understand or you think" weird shock artist." its talentless or unoriginal with no substance.

Arrogant?I guess it depends on who you ask.I know my shit and will call a spade a spade. The only one I see being immature is you--for catching feelings over someone you claim to not even like

.Musicology I think is just another crappy Prince album to add to the list, starting at graffiti bridge till now.

Tell us something we don't know.

Michael Jackson, Thriller was it for me

As it was and still is for many people--it's a great album.Period.

.Antichrist Superstar 96 ,Mechanical Animals 98,Holy Wood 00 are three strong albums whether you understand them or not.
Seems that you don't understand that there's noting originalabout these albums.Go listen to Bowie and Alice Cooper--Imean REALLY listen--and then go back to MM--hopefully u'll see things a little more clearly.

I'm not even an Manson fan but those albums are really good.I remember 1981 I think my older sister went to go see Prince. When she came home I kind of remember her saying they booed prince right off the fuckin stage. That was when he opened for the stones and bombed. He was wearing a trenchcoat g string fish net in 81?You tell me who was into shock value?

Once agin you're having comprehension problems. If you actually read what I wrote above, you'd see that I never said that Prince didn't use "shock value" to promote his image. The point is Prince didn't rely on just shock value--thatw as just the icing on the cake--unlike MM.

Every man has a right to there own opinion. And I respect that opinion if its an educated one.

Then go out there and do some research and form an educated opinion ,cuz up till now everything you've said has been anything but educated.

I think a lot of Manson's success came from what he was saying. He said the right thing at the right time with the right look and the right sound. His success is due to a mix of many things, not just his image. If he had the exact same appearance, but played country music and preached the bible, I don't think he would be as successful as he is.

The Beautiful People

I don't want you and I don't need you-
don't bother to resist, or I'll beat you.
It's not your fault that you're always wrong-
the weak ones are there to justify the strong.
The beautiful people, the beautiful people-
it's all relative to the size of your steeple
you can't see the forest for the trees-
you can't smell
your own shit on your knees.

There's no time to discriminate,
hate every motherfucker
that's in your way.

Hey you, what do you see?
Something beautiful, something free?
Hey you, are you trying to be mean?
If you live with apes, man, it's hard to be clean

The worms will live in every host-
it's hard to pick which one they eat most
The horrible people, the horrible people-
It's as anatomic as the size of your steeple.
Capitalism has made it this way,
old-fashioned fascism
will take it away!

Again, I don't agree at all. I think he is a great lyricist. As someone already pointed out, there is a whole lot of humour, cynicism and irony in his lyrics, and I think THAT more than anything, is where his true skills lie. I also don't agree that his image is the only thing that gave him his success. I think it probably repelled as many people as it brought in. I certainly had no interest in him at first. It wasn't until I heard his music that I really started to dig what he was about.

Marilyn Manson has to be one of the most unique and most talented artists that has ever emerged on the music scene. I can appreciate the fact that some people may find his lyrics to be offensive (which all depends on your religion) but the man freely exercises his right to freedom of speech in his music and says what is exactly on his mind, for that alone the man should be commended, all this in a society where if one farts you have to be careful who you may offend or what P.C. rule you are breaking.

Also, harping on this whole "shock value" crap is dumb. Manson isn't trying to shock people anymore. That's why he wrote the lyrics, "Everything has been said before, nothing left to say anymore." He knows his days of being shocking are done, but he's just expressing himself the way he wants. I don't think many of you have been paying attention to what he's been up to. I know you don't care to, but maybe pay a little more attention before you make assumptions.

U really don't read that good.. I said a 100 times before that i didn't focus on his image.. I only said that his image was the reason for his 'succes".... i don't see his talent at all... She's a real sweetheart too. One of the nicest hot women I've ever met.

People should understand that Manson is one hard working motherfucker. He's been busy since the early 90's and he hasn't stopped. He's making an honest living doing what he loves. I think that's what we all want.

That's what it all boils down to. Love him or hate him, he's doing what he wants to do and is making a living doing it.

Yeah, you're right with this one..... I just my musical taste, but i see there are many ppl who really dig this guy... i must say; i do have respect for his way of working (doesnt mean i like it) but he creates his own thing. Still i don't like him as an artist, but he earns a lot of money with his thing.... and that's what we all want! lol
the beautiful ones, you always seem to loose
