Yeah, Leah Lumpkins' "Open Our Eyes"... Funkadelic did a version, too(as a B-side to the 45 of "I'll Bet You", also on "Music for Your Mother"), But I agree, I really like EWF's arrangement the best...

Sun Goddess live

September

Thats the Way of the World

Fantasy

Can't Hide Love

Be Ever Wonderful

After the Love Has Gone

Reasons

Pretty much the entire "Faces" album

Love is Life

Devotion

Pretty much the entire "Gratitude" album

EWF is the happiest, most life-affirming funk band EVER. You CANNOT listen to an EWF album without feeling happy.

I recommend the EWF Live videocassette, where Bailey takes on a Darth Vader-like costumes guy to a hot funk rythym opening the show: so cheesy!

damn right, this is the wunnerful concert from '82, '83. Hey I replaced my old VHS tape with the DVD only five days ago!!

OK, Earth Wind & Fire... togehter with Stevie and Prince they form my peronsl trio of ultimate artists
So to pick any fave songs is almost impossible.. the Eternal Dance Collection is a good thing to start with.. and then add all of them other albums!!! nod

OK, U guys/gals did a good job in compiling this list, ALL off the biggies are there already and ther's not much left to add from my side.
Anyway here are some songs that where not mentioned before, but which I wouldn't wanna miss for the world:

Back on the Road
Feeling Blue
Fall In Love With Me
Sparkle
Fill You Up
And Love goes on
Got to get you into my life
You
...

awhh just foget it there's too many!!! lol
Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

Outkast will be also be contributing to this new album. And according to Verdine White, they are also working with Floetry on a few songs. The plan is to have this CD distributed by a major label,so that it gets the promotion and radio airplay it deserves.

Yeah, I hope they get the promotional push this time...I think a lot of people never even knew that "Avatar"/"In The Name Of Love" and "The Promise" were ever released...

Yeah,it's a shame that recent EW&F albums like 'Avatar' (1996) and 'The Promise' (2003) didn't get the attention they deserved. Those are fine albums.

I'm excited about a new CD,but hopefully the old albums will continue to get remastered.Last I heard,'Faces' is the next album that's getting the remastered treatment.

these are the CDs I really want them to remaster...

'Last Days And Time' (1972)
'Head To The Sky' (1973)
'Faces' (1980)
'Raise' (1981)

It's not really that crucial for 'Powerlight'(1983) to be remastered,as it wasn't one of my favorite EW&F albums. But they REALLY,REALLY need to re-release the underrated 'Heritage' CD (1990),which has been out-of-print for about a decade or so.

I dunno, I love Powerlight, I even prefer it over Raise. Lot's of songs I really enjoy: Side by Side, Fall in Love With Me, Something Special, Straight from the Heart, Speed of Love, Hearts to Heart... I even like the kitschy Miracles, hehe lol

anyway... desperately waiting for the remastered "Faces" now pray

I found 'Powerlight' to be uninspired,as if they were just going through the motions. Also,by that time, their music started to become more electronic. The horns all but disappeared on some tracks. But I did like the first single "Fall In Love With Me",and "Side By Side" is nice.

Whoo! I love all of these--after seeing the "Spirit" album on the "Musicology" video, I had to get mine out. I've been playing "Imagination" to death lately, I just LOVE that song.

". . .So I imagine my heart with you,
See what imagination will do?
It's not hard to conceive
Love's ecstasy
Imagining you and me"

The vocals on that song just SEND ME! horny
