Originally scheduled to perform in 12 major markets in North America with additional stops in Paris and London, the demand for tickets was so high that in New York City after two Madison Square Garden dates sold out in record time,Madonna's manager,Caresse Henry, and the worldwide tour promoter,Clear Channel Entertainment, added four subsequent performances (June 20,21,23 and 24) which were instant sell-outs as well.Demand was so high that an additional New York area performance was confirmed this morning---July 7th at Continental Airlines Arena.Tickets for that event will go on sale Monday April 5th.

UPDATE---MORE U.S. SHOWS TO BE ADDED?

We've been hearing from very reliable sources that there is the chance that even more dates and venues could be added to the North Amercan leg of the tour and that the West Coast could be graced by more stops of the re-Invention Tour.

Up to three more shows are likely to be added in the gap between the Las Vegas and San Jose performances. Our sources suggest that the location would be Anaheim .

We've also been informed that the Slane Castle date is definitely more than a rumor, and is likely to happen on August 29,right after a fourth show at London's Wembley Arena.

UPDATE ON HOW THE REHEARSALS ARE COMING ALONG---

"Bad Girl" is going to be a totally different song from the original.Patrick Leonard did a totally new arrangement of it.Think " Rain" from The Girlie Show, very drummy with tons of piano.

They're trying different versions of "Nothing Really Matters" : the Peter Rauhofer club 69 remix and a new chill-out drummy version also arranged by Patrick Leonard.

We can reveal that "X-Static Process" has always been in the setlist...2 versions are being tried, starting with the acoustic version (from the album) and the Jacques LuCont edit of the track. They are still trying to see if they are going to use both or just one.

Madonna is going to rap on "American Life" ,so far it is indeed in the setlist.

"Bedtime Story" is going to be the theme song of the tour! The Orbital mix is not going to be used,Madonna is not feeling it.Junior's cut might be it.Also Stuart Price is doing a remix of the song,to try it.

"Like A Prayer" has way more of a dark beat. They are rehearsing a more heavy version.

source: DrownedMadonna

So,let's take a look at all the songs that are being rehearsed and considered for the tour...

"Bedtime Story/Skin"
"Nobody Knows Me"
"Lucky Star"
"Like A Virgin"
"Live To Tell"
"Hollywood"
"Love Profusion"
"Deeper and Deeper"
"Into The Groove"
"Borderline"
"Take A Bow"
"Crazy For You"
"Don' t Tell Me"
"Like A Prayer"
"Justify My Love"
"Nothing Fails"
"American Life"
"Bad Girl"
"X-Static Process"
"Vogue"
"Die Another Day"

worship MADONNA is my favourite artist ever! CDs, lps, cassettes, posters, t-shirts, pins, books, magazines, posters, toys, concerts, dvds, etc... I think I've helped her pay for at least 1 of her rooms in 1 of her houses! lol 20 years of Madonna sure does add up. I want to see her again, this time more than ever. For reasons deeper than just being a fan.

That being said...
I think ticket prices are outrageous! And that is putting it nicely. I as I'm sure many of her fans, can't afford to give up a car payment, or rent for nose-bleed seats. Reading in Billboard magazine that ticket prices were from $45 - $300; then I went on Ticketmaster at work and they were $90 - $300!!!! $600 for VIP tickets. disbelief Sure, if you can charge that much and people will actually pay it, more power to you. But why? Is she worth it? I believe so. However, will she alienate a lot of her die hard fans? Again, yes. From what I've been hearing she already has. For $300 you can buy the dvd, invite friends over, pizza and drinks, watch it on a big screen t.v. or projection video, surround sound and pretend you're actually there. With money left to spare. Not to mention the price of gas getting to the venue, paying for parking, and the hassel that comes with it. So as she enjoys another succesful tour, making money out of her ass...I'm sure a mere %10 of the audiences will be true fans to a certain degree, while for the most part it'll be an "I'm bored and have money to spend-eventhough I'm not really a fan-just here because I can be" crowd. rolleyes

Material Girl? Definitely! confused

Perhaps she had these lyrics in mind;

Madonna ~ "More" from 'I'm Breathless'
written by Stephen Sondheim

Once upon a time I had plenty of nothing,
Which was fine with me.
Because I had rhythm, music, love,
The sun, the stars and the moon above,
Had the clear blue sky and the deep blue sea.
That was when the best things in life were free.

Then time went by and now I got plenty of plenty,
Which is fine with me.
'Cause I still got love, I still got rhythm,
But look at what I got to go with 'em.
"Who could ask for anything more?", I hear you query.
Who would ask for anything more? Well, let me tell you, dearie.

Got my diamonds, got my yacht, got a guy I adore.
I'm so happy with what I got, I want more!

Count your blessings, one, two, three
I just hate keeping score.
Any number is fine with me
As long as it's more
As long as it's more!

I'm no mathematician, all I know is addition
I find counting a bore.
Keep the number mounting, your accountant does the counting.
[More! More!]

I got rhythm, music too, just as much as before
Got my guy and my sky of blue,
Now, however, I own the view.
More is better than nothing, true
But nothing's better than more, more, more
Nothing's better than more.

One is fun, why not two?
And if you like two, you might as well have four,
And if you like four, why not a few
Why not a slew
[More! More!]

If you've got a little, why not a lot?
Add and bit and it'll get to be an oodle.
Every jot and tittle adds to the pot
Soon you've got the kit as well as the caboodle.
[More! More!]

Never say when, never stop at plenty,
If it's gonna rain, let it pour.
Happy with ten, happier with twenty
If you like a penny, wouldn't you like many much more?

Or does that sound too greedy?
That's not greed, no, indeedy
That's just stocking the store
Gotta fill your cupboard, remember Mother Hubbard.
[More! More!]

Each possession you possess
Helps your spirits to soar.
That's what's soothing about excess
Never settle for something less.
Something's better than nothing, yes!
But nothing's better than more, more more
[Except all, all, all]
Except all, all, all
Except once you have it all [have it all]
You may find all else above [find all else above]
That though things are bliss,
There's one thing you miss, and that's
More! More!
More! More! More! More!
More! More! More!

lol

Well, I am BITTER!!!!! Madonna hasn't been to the state of Texas in 15 years and doesn't have Dallas, or Houston, or San Antonio/Austin, listed on this tour.

I will not be purchasing another Madonna CD until she comes to Texas. mad

I hate reading about this tour because I can't afford the insanely high ticket prices. But I question the point of going if I'll get a better view on the DVD in 6 months anyway.

I wasn't going to this concert. I was extremely pissed about it. But then my sister called me up 3 days after tickets went on sale and told me that she bought me one. GRRR!

I appreciate the gesture, and I'm excited to go, but I really really didn't want to be a contributor to this gouging. i HATE that I'm even going, but also glad that I am. I guess.

That's the beauty of a Prince show. There are no costume changes -- unless you count him taking off his red jacket and unbuttoning his shirt progressively lower. There are no elaborate sets, save for the hanging strands of pearls fashioned in a cylinder that surrounded him during Call My Name. There were no back-up dancers -- his slick footwork is all that's needed.

Prince doesn't need all the trappings that are used by young singers who have to cover up their lack of talent with flashy spectacle and costume changes.

With Prince, it's all about the musicianship and the music. That's all anyone needs

Why don't you guys start an online petition? A group of Madonna fans in Australia have started their own petition, since she is apparently skipping that country too...

http://www.bringmadonnadownunder.com

I think it's a shame that Maddy is skipping so many states and countries on this tour. She has fans all over the world who won't get a chance to see her.By contrast,Cher's last tour took her everywhere at least twice, and she goes back on the road in May (the tour started in 2002).An artist of Madonna's stature needs to do a 12-month trek, and maybe add a second U.S. leg.

I think we do have to remember that she is a human being, with two small children. And possibly a longer tour would be beyond her. The number of people who want to see her live is phenomenal and that is because she is one of the best performance artists in the world today - possibly the best, although I may be biased. Given the scale of the perfomances we have come to expect from Madonna I think that the commitments she has made on the tour already will be a long haul for her.

Remember that even with a number of dates at two venues in London, there are English fans who haven't got tickets for a show. I spent hours trying to get Earls Court tickets which sold out within the hour.

Fortunately, (thanks dad!) I am now going to Paris for the weekend in September to see her Bercy show! biggrin

Congratulations on getting tix for the Bercy show lol

You bring up a good point, about Maddy having two small children.Maybe when Lourdes and Rocco get a little bigger, she'll do a longer, more complete world tour.
