I'm still stuck on how Asucky had the audacity to try and cover Chaka's "Ain't Nobody." What the hell? And that acoustic version of "Time After Time" sounded a damn mess...nothing more than a hollaring match.

Lol, they were going to put Kylie Minogue on there but she bowed out. I guess we know that they're running out of divas when Kylie Minogue TURNS THEM DOWN.

And the only reason Ashanti got a record contract is because she screwed Ja Rule and Irv Gotti.

Lets not forget about Debbi Harry. What the hell was wrong with her? The band was Rockin with"rapture" and "call me" but she reminded me of someones(really old) grandma. I'm not advocating age-ism, cause hopefully we will all live long enough to see 50 or 70 or how ever the hell old she is. But damn, that was just ridiculous. That was the worst show that i've ever seen. Well, ok, maybe the source awards were worse, but this is a close second.

I thought Patti, Sheila, Cyndi and Gladys, made this the best VH1 Divas show that I can remember. Their talent overshadowed Jessica, Ashanti and Tom Jones who is not even worth mentioning.

All of Patti's numbers rocked. The Patti/Cyndi duet of "Time After Time," was moving. Cyndi was great on her own too.

Sheila looked great, sounded great and beat the hell out of her timbales as she always does!

Gladys was classy, would have liked to have seen her without the other "divas."

Joss Stone, not bad.

Gladys Night(legend) had a line of dontva's(opposite of diva) and basically started sreaming at them. Joss Stone came out for a duet w/Gladys..left in a haze of screams. Jessica Simpson came out for her turn and...yup, you guessed it...scream fest. At one point there were all these women on stage ALL SCREAMING AT THE SAME TIME. That was some funny shit. Hell, Cyndi Lauper came out and I swear she walked in circles just fucking hollaring at the top of her lungs. It was nuts. There you have it. They just dont make divas like they used to.

What did you expect? It's VH1 Divas Live!?...My rundown. It was enjoyable but it was putting me to sleep. I really only watched it to catch Sheila E. ...Debbie Harry needed a girdle...Cyndi was cool. Patti and Cyndi tried to recapture their magic of thier perfomance of "Time After Time" on a Patti 1985 Live TV special. Now, that was incredible...Jessica Simpson, I was surprised at her voice...girl can sang. Joss Stone was cool also... Ashanti. Slap her for the cover of Diana Ross' "I'm Coming Out" and mixing it with Puff Daddy's "Mo Money, Mo Problems"...Slap her two more times for attempting to cover Chaka's "Ain't Nobody"...sh*t, Chaka can't even touch that one (which she proved again on her recent Ellen Degeneres appearance)...Patti I love, no matter what. Gladys needed to funk it up more and lose the other divas. She looked great. And last but not least...Sheila E., looking quite incredible I might add. Like I said, I only really watched to catch Sheila...

VH-1 divas is pretty ridiculous. I think the first year it was on, they actually had people that could be classified as such. And since then, they've had to resort to little girls playing dress up (diva wannabes). The whole thing has been horrible since the onset of the millenium, and it continues to get worse year after year. And for some reason, VH1 keeps it going....

did it look like to anyone but me that Debbie raided Michael Jackson's handme downs for her opening costume

I passed by it, saw them doing 30 20 second snippets of songs & leaving - like a parade of silly ass no singin wenches. I had to turn when I heard a voice that was NOT Prince's say you don't have to be beautiful!

The show is called Divas, not Wanna-Be-Divas. Why don't they drop the inexperienced acts, and stick with the true legends?
