The Only Way I Can Listen 2 "Damita Jo"...

I do this with most of my CDs, chopping and changing 2 get the maximum flow and enjoyment.

burn in this order...

22 Just A Little While
10 All Nite (Don't Stop)
11 R&B Junkie
20 Slolove
13 Like You Don't Love Me
07 Spendin' Time With You
09 Island Life
05 My Baby
12 I Want You
14 Thinkin' 'Bout My Ex
15 Warmth
16 Moist
18 Truly
04 Strawberry Bounce
03 Sexhibition
02 Damita Jo

and PISS the interludes off completely!... wink

Just my opinion, some peops really dig Tracks 2,3 & 4, but I think they're a weak start 2 the album...

that's not far off how I listen to the album.. I start with "Island Life", then let the album cycle through and track one starts after JALW. (just have "repeat" set on the whole disc so it restarts).

i just added the bonus tracks.

and deleted all of that jabbering.

it's much more enjoyable when you don't have to listen to her "thoughts" rattling around that empty head of hers.

The only way I can listen 2 "Damita Jo" is with the sound off. It's great.

"Warmth" is over the top and stilly but "Moist" is hot as hell. Nearly everytime I listen to the album I have it on random and it gives me really good ideas of how to re-arrange the album. I like your arrangment altough I wouldn't start with all the dance songs right from the top and I always felt that "Slo Love" should close the album...not sure why though. And I think I woudl scrap "My Baby", which is one of the lamest songs she's done.

Warmth is more catchy than Moist.. I dont like Moist that much. I dont like My Baby and Strwberry Bounce shouldve been saved for B-Sides. Oh and Truly... that was trying to be like J.Lo's Secretly 2 much...

Save 4 the rest of the album though...is HOT! My friend thinks that this album is the best she has ever done.....But eye cant agree with that. It is better than All 4 U, and somewhat for The Velvet Rope (because Velvet Rope kinda gets lost when Tonight's The Night comes on .. the message gets lost.).

And y is "Island Life" growing on me day by day by day? It is a must listen on it now.

Glad I'm not the only one that thought "My Baby" doesn't belong on the album. Think about Janet's other collobrations with rappers. Most notably the only time a rapper has appeared on a Janet album before that was Chuck D and "New Agenda" rocks so fucking hard (am I the only one that thinks this song is killer and better than some of the singles).

I find the cooing in "Moist" to be much more catchy than "Warmth"...I really wonder what the clean verison of "Warmth" sounds like. It's not a bad song though even though I called it "over the top and silly", which is it.

I've been listening to "janet" for a few days and I must say it's one hell of an album that I underestimated and almost puts this one to shame becuase it is so experimental but I'm still loving DJ. I agree with "Tonight's The Night". It's just kind of bland sounding and kills the momentuem but it's still damn good. I love the last two songs. What is the title of the "hidden" TVR track?

Strong Enough.

I think Velvet Rope couldve done without "My Need" and "Anything"

Janet. couldve done without "Wat'll I Do" (not a bad song, but more of a B-Side) and "This Time". janet. album aint bad..it's just that it was kinda wild. Some stuff coulve done without. and THIS WAS THE ALBUM where the interludes didnt matter and were silly. Damita Jo's interludes make sense. Even the interludes in Rhythm Nation were kinda like...yeeeah... but some of them were cool.

and NO Warmth is better. Moist is kinda boring...and then falls on Truly..another dull one. "When We OOO" on there wouldve made a much much better impact than Moist.

Same here... I actually never listen to "Spending Time With You" (zzz "Stay" by Eternal [1993], anyone?) or "My Baby" - and that MUST be saying something considering I loved Kanye's other contributions to this album, as well as his solo disc.

Ban This Time? Oh my gosh, next to Throb, it is my personal favorite.

I'll see if I can pick 1 of those up in SINGAPORE or JAPAN next week.

I love this album, I think it's her best since 1993's "JANET", just my opinion.

It just sounds a bit too derivative and predictable! I think we heard that melody as a hook before.. "Stay" by Eternal.

Really I only said I didn't listen to "Spending Time With You" and "My Baby" ft. Kanye. I love the rest of it... I even like listening to the interludes! I love "Warmth" too. smile

Kill! I think that "Spending Time With You" is very hot and should be the single after "All Nite" (I would prefer "Slo Love", but to put those those tracks back to back is a bit much and leads people into thinking it's dance music album).
