Yaaaay!
It's about time she did this. One of my friends worked on a couple of her tours and was always remarking that she has a tendency to randomly vocalise "vocalese" style under her breath and scat here and there- just from out of nowhere. Then I was watching a documentary once where they showed her on a press tour, and while entering her hotel room she was being silly and just randomly doing vocalese...I was like HOT DAMN  ! That gal can "sang"!
If Mariah did a jazz project, and then maybe a gospel project once in her life, it would be SO FLY. She is getting up there in age, and frankly I just can't stand to think about her cooing seductively into a mike forever..that's just too much of a waste considering how gifted she is. If she did a jazz project I would RUN to buy it. That, and a gospel album with some mass choir songs, maybe similar to what Whitney did with the soundtrack for "The Preacher's Wife"... Anyway, keep us posted on what you hear about this project, Harlepolis- I absolutely DEPEND on alot of your postings to keep current with what's going on in music at home in the U.S.  | |

I was just going to post this! she just finished recording with these guys
I have also heard she has completed 2 songs with the neptunes and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (which i'm not too excited about! hopefully with her new direction she will ditch jj & tl, they always save they're good shit for Janet!) | |
