Brittany Spears Showtime Concert Ok so I was channel surfin last night when I came upon old girls concert from Miami. I know this came out a few weeks back but it's not like I was setting my VCR for it or anything. Any how, she was doing some of her "hits" in a sort of "Vegas lounge" style. At first I thought it was an intro to one of her songs but it went on and on and on. Her audience looked board and you could tell they were adding crowd noise over top of the video. It was sooooo bad I just couldn't turn. While I am no where near being a fan of hers, I figured it has to get better than this. It didn't :OMG: It got worse! She went into a part where she introduced her band. She was attempting to talk "street" while doing this. She was saying stuff like "Check this shit out y'all" and "He's one fine man" My god I actually felt embarrassed for her! They then cut to a video of her walking thought a forest where she comes upon a piano covered in vines. They then cut back to the stage where she is now sitting at the same piano that was in the video. She starts to "sing" and "play" the piano. Only one problem. it doesn't seem as if her hands are even moving! You never get a real good shot of her "playing". Now I see where the vines are there  They help cover the fact she's not really playing shit! All of this becomes moot when she stands up and walks away during the song, but the piano part keeps going On top of this the girl is singing like she is tone deaf. I mean I knew she didn't have a great voice but Jesus! I had no idea she was really THIS BAD! The person that started the thread "What's the difference between Janet and Brittany" needs to sit down and watch that shit I saw last night and then one of Janet's concert videos. I saw every bit of the nightmare as you just stated in your tread. The worst part is she can't even lip-synch. Sometimes she wasn't singing along with her voice or she was singing off line. But she's an icon. Sheeeeit!  | |

The most embarrasing part of the show in my opinion was her performance of "Shadow." The girl could hardly sustain a note, and despite the technology that's used to smooth out the imperfections in her voice (ha ha), she sounded quite flat.

was it really this bad? i don't know...some of y'all are always too tough on britney; makes me think there's some exagerating going on here. i'll have to eventually check it out. i did see her special a few years back...the one in vegas. i laughed a lot at that one so i'm not in total disbelief. her abc special though, the one that aired the night before her cd came out, actually had fun performances. i hope you are just stretching the truth. | |

The Vegas one was hilarious. "LIVE IN VEGAS"! Yeah, right. Sheesh. These aren't concerts, they're glorified stripshows. Even the dancing is poor. | |

I went with my cousin to see her last night. Couple of hysterical things happened...my favorite was when she apologized to us and said to bear with her through the next song because she has a sore throat..she didn't even fucking sing all night! Then when she came out to "play" the piano...omg...she gets up and the piano is still playing!
I mean she danced her ass off and put on a good performance...but I'd never go see her again. | |

I stated right upfront, I'm not fan of the girl. So I really wouldn't expect anything from one of her shows. But that's exactly what shocked me. With as low as my expectations were, she actually went lower! I'm not a Madonna fan either but I have never flipped by one of her shows and stopped in shock it was so bad.
